He clarified which of the two options it was and it wasn't the worst one.
It says that it's not being worked on right now and it's not in the plan right now. Just the same as space legs wasn't part of the immediate plan in 2015 I bet.
It means, the earliest the situation might change, is when new plans are made, which might take a while.
Since there is most likely no plan for making a new plan, nothing can be said about it yet.
Based on FD's answers to date, would you go out and buy VR gear for Odysee?

it's not hard is it, there are no present plans to develop VR, that's it, that's all you need to concentrate on, they cannot state with any certainty what the future brings can they, maybe all these patches and fixes sort the game out enough that they have resources available in a years time, maybe we hit another pandemic, maybe the dev team enter the lottery and win...
come on be sensible about this.

It's a non answer.
Maybe that's the state of ED dev. They have no clue what they're going to do in the next 12-60 months for this game.

It would have been a precise answer if they would have left the "maybe in the future" part. This just heats new speculations.
Other than that, that was again one thing Frontier couldn't win, no matter how they dropped it.

Yes I would... and I have. The Space sim bit of ED is just spectacular in VR, and the big screen on foot bit is still better than looking at a monitor - don't forget, in VR it's like looking at a cinema screen. But really, as previously posted, if you get chance to play Horizons in VR, I guarantee you will be blown away, and likewise I hope with Odyssey once they sort out the rendering engine and the FPS comes up to playable levels.

Man just saying no and not leaving the door open would be worse, so damned if they do, damned if they don't leave the door open. (You know, a proper development roadmap for six months would probably help - VR on it would be great, but..)
