I find it interesting that the North African theme features a statue of the Dromedary. I know animals not in the game have been referenced in scenery items before, and this usually means nothing, but the DLC themes (as far as I know anyway) never feature scenery of animals not featured in that DLC pack. So it's interesting to me that this theme does. Could this possibly mean that for the first time we'll be getting a free animal with the update? A dromedary fits the theme of the DLC well, and honestly it's hardly a difficult animal to make. They literally just need to adjust the model of the in-game Bactrian Camel to have 1 hump and they basically have a new animal. I'd love to have Dromedaries, they're common in many of the zoos I've been too.

It’s possible for sure. Not saying anyone should expect it by no means or be disappointed if it isn’t. But it’s certainly not crazy to think frontier could possibly throw in a free animal considering frontiers history of doing this with several titles already. I truthfully thought this the moment I saw the dromedary sign plus the comments left by the lead CM but I’m not disappointed either way.
To be honest, I guess it's the same reason we have signs in the base game but no according animals: The people who work on building items and those who work on animals are two different groups and the communication isn't always accurate.

As I said in the Africa Pack thread, it's extremely unlikely that we'd get a whole new animal for free. There's also no way to know how easy an animal is to make, so I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. We've had plenty of animals that would be about as 'easy' as a dromedary camel to create and none of them were free.
I don't know what to think. That would be amazing of course, and it's nothing crazy, but I don't want to have false expectations. It's a bad move by Frontier adding new theme items for an animals for which we already have items despite not having the animal. They read the forums and they are aware of this situation where animals in the game lack signs and statues while we have them for animals we don't have, so making again the same mistake they did on the base game would be sad.
That would be a dream come true, but unfortunately not likely 
I feel like giving us a free base game animal would sadly be more of a risk then anything, as what would start out as a onetime gift would escalate into the community demand more free animals with new update, and im quite sure thats a headache that no one wants
Exactly what I think, too. It would set a precedent. Not only would people expect more, but no doubt people would start wondering why we paid for similar animals in the past, such as the Arctic wolf or Malayan tapir.
I think the only places they could have gotten away well would have been anniversary updates, maybe even just to the delux edition where they would have the excuse that it is an "anniversary only" thing or at the end of the lifespan, gifting us some clones for free, which would be nice but not expected
I still have some hope, because its weird to me that same mistake of having probs as in base game that were probably a consequence of bad communication between the team would happen in a DLC where all animals were already set.
BUT I wont be dissapointed if that is not the case, I am just not writing this option totally off. But the possibility of one of the CMs jumping in here and crush my hope might happen soon enough, lol.

I mean honestly, i would love if we would get a surprise dromedary and maybe even a nile crocodile for some nice egyptian parts for our zoos, but the wisest move is just to wait and see.
Maybe im more chill about that stuff, because i dont really care about their inclusion anyways, would be nice to have them but nothing that i would have a craving for, but now with the egyptian pieces it feels like they actually kind of got a niche that just wouldnt look as fitting with their asian cousins

BlueFang gave the ZooTycoon players in the life span of both titles free animals. Why Frontier could not do that, too? The effort then was the same as Frontier has today
They proppably could, the question is if they should. People are ungreatefull and it can turn into more harm than good for them in the long run.
I mean just look at the SEA pack, now everybody and there mother thinks that they are entitled to more then 4 animals, some even seriously asking the CMs when they will add more animals to the older dlc.
Yes you might say there are allways some stupid and embarassing people, but that doesnt make it more appealing for frontier to give stuff out for free, remember FREE, when they most likely would only get pressure and backlash from the community in the long run

Frontier isn't BlueFang and Planet Zoo isn't Zoo Tycoon. It's literally that simple.
Frontier did give at least 1 free ride for Planet Coaster. I know it's a different game, but the connection between both games is undeniable. Does that mean that they must give also free animals for PZ? No. Is it crazy to think that we could maybe get 1 free animal? No, it is something possible. Is it crazy to think we can have lots of free animals? Yes.
Are there some vocal crazy people on this forum? Also yes
I agree that is strange to have two signs for an animals that isn't even in the game but unfortunately i don't think we will have the dromedary for free, it would be a very nice surprise tho. (There are two possibility, or we will get the dromedary one day, or the sign exclusive animals will not make in the game, which i hope not).

But I also wouldn't have expected mesh fences as part of a free update either. And all of the considerations are pretty similar: Something people really wanted, something people said they'd pay just for that one piece, the sort of item that could be a selling point for a dlc, a history of people saying they don't have enough, the risk that a few ungrateful people will come to expect such things in all future updates, etc.

You guys have a good point, but people will make demands one way or another. They already DO demand free animals, especially notable in Steam reviews of the dlcs that I sometimes read when writing my owns.
Just so the devs know, I am incredibly grateful for the mesh pieces and other free additions in the updates. Just though that having this dromedary piece in the dlc was suspicios.

The fact that SEA has the best reviews is just baffeling, especally when compared to the far superior australia, southamerica and aquatic dlcs
