Oh, there is a whole story behind that as well, where CIG tried to cover up how much of backer's money they had spent on those doors.
Because of course there is.... of course there is.Oh, there is a whole story behind that as well, where CIG tried to cover up how much of backer's money they had spent on those doors.
Star Citizen: There's always more, and it's always worse.Because of course there is.... of course there is.
Honestly, SC is the gift that keeps on giving. There's like no bottom to the insanity and grifting - you can always dig a little further.
Everything in that video looks so much more alive than what we have now. I would have been thrilled with it!Is this what you would like CIG to have released in 2016? - asks a concerned backer.
Daaaa! - answers I.

They could be on 30 - 40 systems by now if they stuck to this concept. This is the same mistake Andromeda made - instead of levels and hubs, like in previous Mass Effects, you had open world "planets" that felt small because you could quickly get everywhere and interest points were ridiculously close to each other. As a result, despite the openness, everything felt smaller and more cramped.Everything in that video looks so much more alive than what we have now. I would have been thrilled with it!
It does, i agree.Everything in that video looks so much more alive than what we have now. I would have been thrilled with it!
The year the original source engine was made is irrelevant if it's been constantly improved and updated.CryEngine3 is a 12 year old engine at this point (from 2009). It being too fidelicious is the least of CIG's problems.
In the first two hours of his stream tonight, DownToEarthAstronomy got killed five times by his ship when entering it.
Fear not citizens! These problems are rare and have been resolved.

No mate...they really aren'tMy comments on Star Citizen are balanced....
If I want to benchmark my rig using a game to give me a rough idea on performance, I wouldn't go near SC or EDO...Assassin's creed Odyssey or Valhalla on ultra settings, there's a built in benchmark in the optionsFunny thing is, there are games out there that look much better than Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous but somehow don't bring computers to their knees.
There is clearly a matter of optimization issues for both games.
In ED's case it seems to be direct issues with lack of optimization.
In SC's case it seems that CIG (especially CR) focus way too much on fidelity to the point where there is a limit to what optimizations can bring. When they have ridiculously high textures on the soles of boots you have to wonder if they even care about performance or just assume people will buy the computers required to render it all at a good frame rate. It can certainly limit the number of people who can play your game. Back when Wing Commander came out, very few people i knew actually had PCs that could run it, and even then, to get it running at all, CR basically had to make it so that it unloaded the OS from memory once launched to eek out extra bytes. "Thank you for playing Wing Commander" you'd be greeted with on exist, before you rebooted the computer so you could use it again.
Comedy gold. We rarely see you joke like this. Refreshing. My comments on Star Citizen are balanced.
Strange that I don't seem to have any issues getting in and out of a Prospector, I haven't since the olden days of the ladders of doom back in 3.5/3.6...I'm not suggesting it doesn't happen since I can plainly see it happening, not only from video but also from reading the many ICC reports on the subject...In the first two hours of his stream tonight, DownToEarthAstronomy got killed five times by his ship when entering it.

I was just thinking that watching the vid again...fatboi armour clipping through the ship when it lurches from the canned entry animation back to the physics grid. I always wear the light or medium stuff so it's probably a factor. I only wear the chunky-boi Pembroke armour when I'm ROC mining...Something I'll test later too.I think it might be the armor he is wearing. you can see it if you watch the whole thing. he has on big armor and it might be clipping into the ship. if i get motivated enough i'm gonna test it.
