What is an animal that you really want but you're not sure is making it?

The Roloway or Diana Monkey.
I would love a smaller monkey from africa and these ones check all the boxes for me:
Their looks are stunning, they are a more or less common species in zoos (diana atleast are), they carry the enviromental message and would be a great fit for africa houses.
The Problem i see is, that other similar monkeys will proppably be chosen over them.

You can even find them in mixed species enclosures with gorillas, so it is useable in many ways

Since we first learned that PZ was gonna be a thing, I've been wishing for an European/Scandinavian themed dlc.

And the European badger is THE animal I want more than any other animal.

However, if Frontier ever were to make an European/Scandinavian themed dlc I'm afraid the European badger wouldn't make the cut.

Still hoping though!! 🤞

I’m desperately hoping for wolverines or honey badgers (preferably both) so the family can make their way into the game

What about an "Introduced Species" DLC? Filled with "hated" animals from all over the world; theme will be something like shipping boxes/vehicles, maybe classic zoo props such as crates?. Imagine the sales:

  1. Wild boar - hated pretty much everywhere they were introduced and destroying everything, especially since the US variety is a hybrid with domestic pigs (resulting in huge, territorial animals. They have attacked and killed people, and I've personally seen one willing to ram my dad's truck; fortunately it didn't)
  2. Small Indian mongoose - they are pests in Jamaica, and I believe they killed off all the snakes and most birds except select locations
  3. Nutria - an invasive, aquatic rodent. Imagine a water rat, basically. (En español, nutria rata; nutria in Spanish also means otter, so it can be confusing)
  4. ? - can't think of anything else*
  5. Burmese python (E) - Florida, everglades. That's all

*it's a tie between:

1. Raccoon
2. Dromedary camel
3. Goat (any)
4. Red fox

Add the racoon (considerd a pest europe) or a Type of domestic goat (they wrecked many island ecosystems, most notably on the galapagos archipelago) and we got quite the solid pack.

Also,

red fox
Domestic cat
Ring tailed possum,
Red deer
Domestic (feral) horses
grey squirrel

also a good opportunity to add pigeon effects.

Heaps of exhibit possibilities: various snakes, can toads,

Ringtail possums aren't introduced anywhere, it's those pesky brushtails you're after. Funnily enough, they'd probably work better with the game's current functionality than most other tree-dwelling animals (including the heavily arboreal ringtails) given they're semi-terrestrial and spend a lot of their time on the ground.

What about the opossum? Have those been introduced anywhere? I think they're sometimes pests here in the US, but have they been introduced elsewhere?

They've been introduced outside their natural range to the west coast of the United States, though I'm not sure if they've been detrimental in any way.

Very interesting. I need to research. They'd be a fun addition, to be honest. We have an opossum that walks along the fence every night, and the dogs go crazy, but the darn thing just stands still staring, further antagonizing the dogs

Yeah, I though it might be those guys but didn’t bother checking. :)

I worry the European Badger won't make it in either, even with a European DLC which will no doubt arrive at some point, hopefully. The badger is my second most wanted animal from Europe, and while we do now have a mustelid with the otter, there's a whole family there to explore.

Cougars. Under the slim chance that we get a North America, I think that cougar would be easily passed over for Porcupine, Elk, Moose, and Coyote. I think that the only way I potentially see it, is if they release a 7 animal pack for North America, like with SE Asia. But I doubt it. The new Africa packs seems to indicate that they are going back 4+1. Sigh
Same with American Beaver and American Alligator. All three are really cool animals, that tend to get overlooked. My local zoo only has cougar and beaver because they have an entire native, "Cascadia", section.

North America is far from a "slim chance", it's widely regarded as the most likely upcoming DLC, and the cougar is one of the most requested animals for such a pack. American Beaver and American Alligator are not far behind and they've all got a good chance I'd bet, especially the cougar. So don't loose hope so soon!

Also, Frontier always said that they were going to alternate between the DLC formulas, they aren't going back to 4+1 for good.

I hope so! I just won't hold my breath. Zoos and zoo games have a focus on megafauna (animals larger than 45 kg, 100lbs), and North America is pretty empty of megafauna. Personally, I think that a second Asia or Africa pack is more likely, just given the amount of megafauna that those two continents have.

I’m pretty sure we’re gonna get a cougar in the NA DLC
