Predicting the remaining dlc content

Just curious really on the communities opinions on how many dlcs remain and what they could be? I’m like anyone else here if someone told me another 3-4 yrs support I’d be happy as happy could be but the reality is we probably won’t get that much so here’s my opinion. Keep in mind this is just simply a prediction and has no concrete evidence and is just for fun. I honestly think we have 4 dlcs left. I believe one is obviously a NA pack which I believe will be a 4+1 pack. I think this one is obvious and most likely the next pack. Feel free to predict animals but since they could literally be anything I’ll just stick to type and the numbers I think each pack will be. I think aviary is definitely coming as well. I’m not sure what the size will be I think it will be more then the standard 4+1 and possibly different then the 7+1 as well. I believe will get some aviary building pieces more then likely and possibly some scenery and definitely new enrichment. I do expect animations to be looped. Now the hard part predicting what comes after the two expected packs. I honestly think we get two 7+1 packs that will feature animals from no specific regions or continents. I believe animals such as a capybara will be a very likely pick along with some other highly requested and possibly a surprise or two as well. The other thing I hope for at least is a European pack but this could probably go either way. I base my prediction mainly from the way Planco ended with the ride packs towards the end which focused mainly on rides obviously. I hope I’m wrong and would be more then happy if that was the case. Anyway what are your thoughts and predictions?

I think at least 4 more DLCs are likely… my best guess for the likely packs (not what I’m hoping for) are:

North America
Birds / aviaries
Eurasia (animal pack)
Threatened species

I think that this would leave heaps of content areas still to be explored. Especially:

Australia and South America both need many more animals (especially Australia)

An islands pack could include some cool species (Fossa, Kiwi, Plenty of bird options if it’s after birds are added, Tasmanian devils & more)

We need more desert animals so maybe a desert-specific pack.

…. mind you, if it weren’t for the leak I wouldn’t have guessed an Africa pack was likely, so mostly I’m just sure I’ll be wrong.

Call me optimistic, but I think we'll have for sure two more DLCs this year and probably another 4 DLCs next year. The game is doing so well and the DLCs are "easy to make" in the sense that there are many well known animals missing that would sell well. For rides and dinosaurs, it can be difficult to decide from a marketing point of view what to include in a DLC once you already have the most famous Dinos or flat rides, but with zoo animals, there's plenty of choice.

So my prediction: North America, Birds, Europe, Endangered and two final dlcs with animals from all the continents mixed.

My bet would be on atleast 4 more dlcs till the end of buissness year 2022 (which was confirmed that they have planned support for), but could easily be more afterwards.
Im quite sure that there will be both a NA and europe 4+1 pack just to round out the continent and giving us a nice bace raster that will be complimented by 2 animal packs From all over the world, Most likely an endangerd species pack with fan favourites like amur leopard and tasmanian devil, as well as either an birds pack or a pack from community votes

Small detail, it was about paid DLC for Frontier games, including Planet Zoo and not specifically till the end of business year 2022 - just business year 2022.

Going with OP's 4 DLC guess, random order:

1. North America
2. Europe
3. Birds
4. Conservation status/biome/random animal mix.

1: North America would be my most likely guess.

2: Europe is something I think is likely but also somewhat hesitant this is going to happen. That means all continents got a DLC except Europe, which would be a poor move.

3: Since JWE1 did the aviaries, I always consider this an option - still a bit hesitant if they are actually going to do this. Also an option for a last (big) DLC.

4: Anything goes but imo desert has become less likely with the Fennec Fox in the African one. How much appeal will desert species have for the mainstream audience? Conservation is a good idea but way too many to pick from that it would be a hit-or-a-miss. Same goes with randon animal mix, except it's easier to add unused scenery/building items to such a pack.

Fan favorite is a tough one to do - you'll need to do voting within the game itself because certain animals or animals from a continent a more popular on 1 platform and barely mentioned on another one. For example: You can't create a fan favorite based only on the forum opinion.

I don't believe in the game is doing well, DLC would continue. Some of the best selling or popular games get no or very little DLC; singleplayer DLC for GTA5 or RDR2, Assassin's creed series, 2020's Ghost of Tsushima. That logic doesn't hold up as well. Wish it would :D
Don't agree with the dino/flat rides and zoo animals comment. For all games there's enough DLC to come up with.

I think North America and Europa pack will be merged into one 7+1 animal pack, not about continent, but about Biome.
Otherwise, I agree with you. I hope we'll have more content than only 4 new packs :'(

Building/simulation games are more suitable for making extra content than triple A games.
Really don't believe that one. Some of the best sold/most succesful/best content-wise DLC are for Triple A titles (especially open-world or RPG)
Personally always surprised about the lack of extra cars in racing games - some of the bigger complaints with racing games actually. Adding extra cars or tracks should be relatively "easy".

That has always been limited by licensing fees from the manufacturers & track operators. For example in project cars 1 there was the Suzuka track right through out the development cycle, however they could not reach agreement with the owners (Honda) so it became a fictional Sakkito track with several changes to the layout to comply with copyright.

I think roughly four more sounds about right, and I feel as though your examples are pretty spot on.

I’m a bit torn on the next two packs. The consensus seems to be an NA pack is coming and then an aviary pack.

I know Frontier is unpredictable in their DLC type, but I somewhat feel they want to go back and forth between animal packs and classic themed packs. A good way to give something to keep player bases interested (and a feeling of being catered to) periodically. Could definitely be incorrect...that just makes sense to me from a marketing standpoint. Keeps more people happier longer.

This would mean the next pack would be an animal pack and the following pack a classic pack, but that doesn’t exactly fit with the North America-Aviary theory

However, in my eyes, the aviary pack (if it comes) has to be an animal plus pack at a higher price point. It would require a plethora of new building pieces for the new animal type, and 4 (arguably 7-8 isn’t either, but it’s a great start) habitat animals won’t be near enough for the new mechanic. I think that pack would have to give something to both builders and animal enthusiasts.

If the next pack is in fact an animal pack, I am somewhat torn between it highlighting one continent(Europe and NA or combining the two into an animal pack). And that would open up non continent based packs immediately.

While both continents could possibly fill out an animal pack roster, I find myself preferring a combo pack where each continent gets roughly 4 animals. If not, I think I would prefer an animal pack from NA.

If I had to guess:

Animal pack featuring NA /North America and Europe

Aviary Pack with 8 animals and building pieces

Classic pack focusing on a specific biome (this could certainly be a Europe pack as well if not combined with NA)

Endangered species/random animal pack

I also belive that there will be four more DLC, but I would be really happy if we would get more. I am definitley one of the persons who defend the separation of North America and Europe. Even tough it would make more sense to give us an Animal pack for NA, I think some Native NA themed pieces would definitley be missing. So probably it would be better to get an European Animal pack instead. I also think that an other Asian pack is very likely too, and hopefully we will get some more birds. On the other hand, I would also love to get aquariums.
So, I would assume:
"Autumn" 2021: European Animal pack (7+1)
"Winter 2021: Aves (would definitley need some building pieces, so wouldn't really expect 8 new species, but really hope so)
" Spring" 2022: North America (4 species and maybe a Native American (Alaskan?) set or "Wild West")
"Summer" 2022: Asian (would be an animal only pack) or Marine (this one must be a 4+1)

When it comes to an aviary/bird DLC, my assumption would be that (given the free flying in JWE2) said pack would be an animal pack instead of a regular pack.

I assume the aviary building tool will most likely be some sort of barrier building tool which would then be included in the free update that comes alongside it. That way Frontier can still include birds in other DLCs where birds might not be the main focus and they don't force people to buy a specific pack. And although it might sound weird, trying to force users to buy two packs might cause more backlash than you might think.

If the aviary system is a barrier building tool, then I don't see the need for many individual new pieces. We know that the animal packs get a limited amount of pieces, so a few signs and a few enrichment items is what it would be, but honestly that would suffice. In turn, Frontier can then give us 8 birds, which feels like a much more fleshed out pack for a pack that introduces such a big new system.

I don't think it will be a specific "aviary" building system, but rather a "covered habitat" building system that can also be used for birds. I think given the limited number of birds likely to be included, they'll probably want to allow us to mix birds in with other habitat species to create more dynamic habitats.

That said, I'm still not seeing any proof of free-flying in any of Frontier's games.

I understand some tracks/brands don't want their name attached to a certain game or their license too expensive. That might apply to some of them but nothing new is something else.
(Also not just official tracks but also own tracks from previous installments).

Quick example: The Need for Speed series usually don't have any new cars (DLC) and they already have models from that brand.

Not that weird imo. I fully agree with your comment - that's not going to sit well. I understand your reasoning for flight in the free update.
I believe it will be 1 (big) DLC and then no more aviary birds in DLC.

Everyone knows that the North American DLC needs to happen and would probably do. Though I would be more content with something like Taiga animal pack with animals from Eurasia too.

I don’t belive that strict European DLC would ever happen but I would gladly see some new building pieces with it (like bavarian).

I would also be really happy with DLC covering all the species represented by the sings but actually absent from the game. I find the fact that we have howler monkey sign and don’t actually have the species in the game really frustrating.

I think that fan favorites DLC it’s a truly amazing idea and would bring most wanted species by the community. Someone mentioned that the voting could happen through the game - perfect plan.

I would also like to see threatened species DLC, Deserts and Rainforests DLC.

Sorry to all the bird lovers but except maybe for the Shoebill I don’t find the avian DLC interesting and if it would ever happen I would be perfectly fine with only ground birds.

Haha, dont be. I have similar thoughts as well.

I like to see aviaries for complementing my zoo for the overall look but I don't know if aviaries will be enough to be engaging enough.
All depends on how immense the aviary system will be and even then, will it be enough for 3 months between DLC ?

One of the reasons I’ve suggested / predicted a Eurasia pack, is that I struggle to think of enough good picks for a Europe pack (even a 4+1 pack) that aren’t at least as much Asian or NA as they are European… out of interest, what species would you put in a 7+1 Europe pack?
I'm the same. I can easily fill a 4+1 Europe Pack but 7+1 seems unlikely. Conversely North America is relatively easy with 7+1, and I see it as quite likely in order to give enough representation to the main biomes (taiga, temperate, desert, aquatic, and tundra).
