Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Well, it depends on whether you think companies should give you the product they said they would deliver and you gave money for.

Sure, if you are a later backer you might feel as though CIG are delivering on what you paid for, but they certainly haven't delivered on what they initially promised, and by that, i mean after close to 500 million and 9 years they haven't delivered on what they said they could do for 5.5 million in 2-3 years.

Scam? Some might call it that. They have certainly lied to backers enough over the years. Personally i go more for incompetence combined with ego, narcissism, and a willingness to say whatever it takes to keep the money flowing (ie: lie through your teeth... which does make it scammy).

I mean, come on guys. What's done is done. Everyone who wanted a moan has had plenty of moans already. CIG have stated their plans for the coming months and its not likely they can say any more than that.

bognogus is currently having a miserable time in SC. might be some clips for you to grab ecity!
I'm working on the other space game's puzzle. :)

We've all seen the same old clips. It's only funny if something is different or if someone here says the issues are resolved.

@cigwatch : Those tips are not for everybody. I've installed SC on 5 computers and never changed the permissions.
You have tried to install SC and failed because of permissions not granted ?

Those problems are often tied to windows 7.

On my previous system - not. But that was indeed Windows 7, configured according to the bleeding edge practices inherited by most Windows users from the XP (and earlier) era - switch UAC off, do everything as an Admin etc.

Let's say I got a bit wiser since then.

Admittedly, I haven't tried again after upgrading and switching to Windows 10. But given the direction the game took and my changing gaming habits, I decided to wait for SQ42 (heh) and play other things from my substantial backlog, including a bit of ED. This is why I am not posting screenshots nor anything - the overall conversation about the development process of SC became more interesting than the game itself. I am just into this stuff - the business, the technology and art of video games. The business story of CIG is a gift that keeps on giving

Now, regardless of whether installing SC would work now or not, please understand that any company that calls breaking your system's permissions "fixing" them, while providing a guide to do so, is either shady or incompetent. Or negligent. This kind of a guide should never be a part of their website.

Streamer that had his own server dedicated to him, along with CIG employee spawning ships for him to make the experience more interesting, suffered just as much as everyone else does.

Shocking.

Wait, is this about the ltt streams? I wasnt there for the first one, but helped show them on the second stream (granted linus wasnt there) what it is like to get ganked.

Hey, mumbling things about entity counts normally works. Can’t blame Papy there.

It does sound nuts that desynch is bad in AC too though, in 1 vs 1 matches. Seems pretty ballsed up somewhere.

(This has been my forensic IT analysis. That will be $120)

And if the farmer insisted that's what he was going to do, and hundreds of forum posters said it was a great idea, you'd know there is something wrong with the community.
The difference between a milking cow and a beef cow is as marked as the difference between EDO and SC...besides milking cows being strictly female and the other lot predominantly male.

Not that I've ever tried, but I assume from general experience around cows that trying to milk a 'raised for beef' bullock (neutered bull) would be quite difficult. It might make the bullock briefly happy though...before it tried to kill you :)
