0% surprise factor.

I guess shaders did not refresh after update,
AGAIN.

Always cracked me up how the Brits adopted all those French colours in their mixed-up language.

It's like the natives were all colour blind and needed the Normans to tell them that mauve was not a female celtic name and that beige and taupe couldn't simply be reduced to "brown".
Actually that is a interesting topic how perception works. In Europe there were no word for blue in roman times, it was perceived as a shade of green. Later, when a seperate word got introduced by germanic tribes, the perception shifted to a separate color.

The Ancient Greeks refer to bronze seas and skies.

Of course, that could just be because of Ouzo.

I just like the idea of a giant French-speaking Viking showing flowers to a terrified saxon peasant and making him try to repeat those fancy colour names.

If you were docked anywhere or at/near any planet,
switch to Horizons, fly to open space, relog to Odyssey.

Worked for me, as always does with post-update connection errors.
Update: just got randomly DC after I managed to load in EDO using Horizons trick.
Time for step 2:
Verifying files from FD launcher (NOT from Steam, it does not reset shaders/planet generation)

EDIT: yep, after that game finally took some time to go with initial gfx preparing.
For the first time after update.

Yes, one word: Barry.

Shudders...

And no undies! Damn embarrassing. I'll never forget having to pick up that Sidey!

Well I think I saw some, but you must remember it's not the place to put dirty ones...

There is not much colors around when it's always foggy and rainy weather.

So true!

:ROFLMAO: An awesome picture, where is @Erei if we need a meme :ROFLMAO:

Hell yes, this must be passed on to Brother @Erei as a new task!

Had a great start to the new update.

Went to a terminal twice, got a connection error, game exited.

Flew to another station, went to take a lift from the ship area to the social hum, game exited.

Logged back in, started running through social hub, CTD.

Not looking forward to taking a mission at this rate...

Please expand my understanding of Viking as a NORDIC brute.
The western-heading Vikings didn't just settle for Britain. They went further out, some of them hilariously rowing into Francia, up the Seine into Paris itself. The French ended up settling it later after other battles by handing over Normandy to a dude called Rollo who swore fealty to the French King. This meant:
  • no more Rollo leading his lads into Paris
  • no more other Vikings doing it either, since the mouth of the Seine was on Rollo's lands now and he wouldn't stand for that sort of thing.
  • French-speaking Vikings.

That's why the region of France called Normandy is called Normandy, and it's denizens the Normans. Norse Men. And well, Normandy is is the north of France too.

Of course, boys will be boys, so while the Normans, that new-breed of French-speaking Vikings did develop a better food culture, they were still very much into the whole sailing/murdering/looting thing. Also teaching foreigners about cuisine and colours. And well, being half-Dane half-French, it's no wonder they settled on Britain as their next destination.
