Problem with that is ship missions scale up in difficulty/effort when they're wing missions. E.g. kill 24 pirates solo for 40 million vs kill 80 in a wing. Or transport 300 tons of goods vs 3000.

On foot missions don't scale, and the rewards are pretty small anyway.
That's a fair point. But they could just make the normal missions shareable without scaling and the reward gets splitted. Then completing the mission is easier and faster, but the reward is less per player. Many players would still go for it, as the main point is about playing together, not the reward.

And they could still stick to the current wing missions, for the extra challenge and reward. So not many changes necessary.

Thank you dev team for all your hard work and making Elite the polished and solid game it's supposed to be!

Can I just add, that I for one really appreciate the fact that Fdev polish the little things as well before moving onto the next big feature. Sure, some of the smaller stuff may not be as important, but if it's never addressed and constantly pushed to the back burner, it will pile up over time to create a very unpolished overall experience. So I'm really glad you guys have the "let's finish this job properly" approach that you do!
 
Hey VR folks, sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this one but the DSS fix didn't make it in. We thought we had the fix ready for this Update but it still needs some more work. Apologies.
Ah no worries, it just means there will be another patch 🥳

...there will be, right?
 
No fix for being stuck in the Apex Map / Mission Board / Cancel loop, or anything else noted here.

You have to wonder what exactly the managers were doing with that 100-strong team that's supposedly been working on this update for two years, given that it feels like more work has been done in the month or so since release.
 
2 lines that pretty much destroyed the whole point of adding Shared missions to the end game. For thousand of BGS players, it's pretty much back to Solo Missions on the ground.

Hardly. Why would sending a bigger team impact the influence effect for the faction of the mission being completed? This makes sense as described, surely?

While it's sad it isn't fixed, the acknowledgement that it should be is appreciated.
 
When you have time - and that's obviously not right now - it would be nice to know what plans are in the works for fixing errors in the ship models. They're not game breaking in any way, but they tend to be of the once-seen-can't-unsee variety, and I'm looking forward to the point when effort can be spared to straighten them out.

E.g.:
Wrong manufacturer's armrest controls on Cutter pilot seat
The infamous supersized steps on the Cutter ramp (and the mirrored "Keep Clear" on the side of it)
The chair pedestal sticking out of the bottom of a Scarab once you get out of it
How about
Wrong nameplates and ID shown on ships in shipyard windows
Ship kit parts have no collision
Shipyard still does not show what weapons and utilities are on ships. Why?

And this REALLY old one
DBX Large weapon clips through floor, also affecting camera in outfitting

Also this
Some stations and ports have the wrong view out of the windows of the bar, including but not limited to
Being set off to the side so far that one can see the outside of the station through the windows
Being set under the floor so we can see the inside of meshes and under landing pads

And this
In some ports, character and terminal models are sunk ankle-deep into the floor. In others, some are hovering a foot above the floor. In some ports this makes interacting with the pioneer supplier and the bartender impossible.

I'll sit and wait for FDev to once again completely and utterly ignore my list of issues in its entirety.

It does make sense, you are somewhat faster than doing them solo (depends of the location of course) and the influence stays the same... because... well it's still one mission. Two people doing them together won't magically increase the impact of it.
 
Schrödinger's feature request?
When we were told there will be shared missions, I bet the first thing that came to mind were the "wing" missions and not just able to share the exciting ones that already do not possess any challenge or payout Vs missions in ships... But sure you keep doing what you doing
