State of the Game

I know players are upset I respect that
but why use no mans sky and sc as a threat I try sc monthly no joy, and play no mans sky with the grand kids all the time
Because "single game lifestyle" gamers are dim like that. They don't play a game, they practice a monotheist religion. So when they mad, they convert to that other religion and it's SHOCKING and will COW the developers of their old game into REMORSE and SUBMISSION. And because they are intrisically monotheist, only one game can be right.

Also, they all flock to similarly stupid arcade games when they could head to more prestigious space "sims" a bit more worthy of the name, such as Kerbal Space Program, Children of a Dead Earth or Rogue System. All they are doing is announce publicly that they still haven't grown out of pretending to be Luke Skywalker and pewpewing las0rs so that baddies ships go boom when they're on Rogue One's tail.

They deserve my contempt, and I'm happy to provide it.

excellent use of childlish capitalisation... 👍🤣

Hours and hours to get xfree86 to work with my matrox card and later voodoo2 & 3

amd fidelity with .85 super sampling seems to result in near stock image quality but better performance.

a nice bonus to have while fdev fixes the game
Yes, it's not bad, but in VR (Rift S ), trying reading the writing with these settings - it's okay in places, but indecipherable in others.
You have to deploy the Krtyen "Human zoom" mode to read a lot of it.

A pretty much 1:1 variant of US comics use of the bold font.

Since I haven't see you around this thread too often, note that I'm obviously heavily exaggerating in the latter part of my rant. :D

I also like space arcade. There's nothing wrong with NMS, Everspace or X-Wing Alliance. As far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier. There aren't two games that do things exactly the same, and imho, unless one is on a really tight budget, there's no good reason not to try a lot of stuff.

I find it absolutely hilarious when a self-designated "space game fan" publicly explains that they chose to ignore NMS for 5 years for example. It's not like the game was low profile...

We have no-really-honestly-it's-actually-simulated-sound-in-space and telepresence. As far as I'm concerned, pop up hit numbers would be a more credible augmented reality type feature.

Fun fact of the day: "Ubuntu" is not a meaningless linux distro name, it actually is an ancient African word which, roughly translated, means "I couldn't install Debian".
[angry noises]
have you ever tried running Steam on Debian? It's a mess. Debian is not good for Desktop computers, it's for servers

You misspelled "Tie Fighter." Other than that, perfect.
Only if we include the extended edition with the whole Thrawn campaign, because the TIE Defender was that ridiculously hilariously overpowered. And even then, I'd still argue that Alliance is the crowning masterpiece of the series, with more story-flavoured missions, greater ship variety, and all the lessons learned from TIE Fighter regarding mission design and flow.

Freespace 1 and 2, Tachyon The Fringe is also good, I War 1 and 2 as well. Privateer 1 and 2 were also fun.
All correct!

Thing about "Tie Fighter" is that I got to play for the "Bad Guys" and the fact that it was written so you really felt like you were one of the "Good Guys".

Which you obviously were all along. We all know that the Jedi suck donkeys'....... Religious fanatics with no respect for other people's rights.

The Force shall set me free!
