I did what he did, but if I downgrade supersampling below 1, it's really bad. Like "hello 1998 bad" with blurry people, and pixel everywhere. Running 640*480 kind of bad. If I go below 0.65, the text in the menu is completely blurred.Down To Earth Astronomy has a great video explaining this

Not close to what the have for the same value.
Then, when I use upscaling as he is, it's still looking the same, but with added weird "dot" effect on everything.
This is the comparison with the same value between him and me :
As you can see, despite having the same options, my screen look terribad. So, what did I miss ? I'd appreciate any help. Using 1920*1080.
Wait a minute.. you have a 3090.. Why would you need CAS at all? You should be rendering at a higher resolution, not lower :OI think we use CAS wrong. Saw a CAS Vid with Cyberpunk 2077 and they use a slider to lower image quality and get some more fps. Will test this now and give feedback.
Still super blurry, and the "lines" are all "broken", like the white and yellow lines above the direction, or the barrier on the left. I don't seems to have what he had on video.Mine looks good with:
supersampling: 0.75,
upscaling: AMD FidelityFX CAS enabled,
AMD Fidelity CAS Intensity: 50%
Try it with .85 and the CAS slider just a tick from the left.Still super blurry, and the "lines" are all "broken", like the white and yellow lines above the direction, or the barrier on the left. I don't seems to have what he had on video.
Still the same artifacts, just less severe. And the FPS gain is minor at that point (5-10 in concourse).Try it with .85 and the CAS slider just a tick from the left.
Under 0.85 i get the same artifacts as you.
Do you have AA enabled?Still the same artifacts, just less severe. And the FPS gain is minor at that point (5-10 in concourse).
I feel I missed something on the video he is using 0.65, yet it doesn't look that bad.
Thank you for your help though![]()
I commend you for trying, but that's basically a placebo. This is not a proper good looking upscale. That would be indeed FSR, or DLSS 2.0 (Even 1.0 is iffy). And having to lower the internal renderer is really.. pathetic. There, I can't find a different word for it. For crying out loud, this is not exactly a high tech engine running ray-tracing, now is it.Still the same artifacts, just less severe. And the FPS gain is minor at that point (5-10 in concourse).

Well no I didn't.... Derp.Do you have AA enabled?
I mean it's not placebo, but it's bad, I know.I commend you for trying, but that's basically a placebo. This is not a proper good looking upscale. Yes it chugs along, but turning my 80-90 I had in Horizons into 30? Yeah, no thanks.
You are absolutely right that we should not have to do it.I commend you for trying, but that's basically a placebo. This is not a proper good looking upscale. Evochron Legacy SE is on sale right nowI mean it's not placebo, but it's bad, I know.
I'm not excusing them for what we have. I'd just like to play a bit before the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022, you know^^
Because the game runs like sh*t....Wait a minute.. you have a 3090.. Why would you need CAS at all? You should be rendering at a higher resolution, not lower :O
I think I tried evochron years ago. Got a headache in the tutorial, didn't understood half of itEvochron Legacy SE is on sale right nowAnd so is Everspace 2

Check the AA optionStill super blurry, and the "lines" are all "broken", like the white and yellow lines above the direction, or the barrier on the left. I don't seems to have what he had on video.
Yes I did, solved the broken line issue. It's not pretty but I guess it works.Check the AA option
It is kinda funny. In ATS and ETS2 you upscale to 400% so you don't need AA, here you downscale and disable AA just so you can play.Yes I did, solved the broken line issue. It's not pretty but I guess it works.
Well... i hope players won't accept this kind of solution. It's just a no way for me.It is kinda funny. In ATS and ETS2 you upscale to 400% so you don't need AA, here you downscale and disable AA just so you can play.
