Are we pointlessly comparing the business practises of FDev and Ci¬G and fighting again?

Why is it that every time those utterly banal comparisons are made...usually after some random person from the internet decides to foolishly announce that they actually like Star Citizen...the entire population of this forum turns into really bad accountants or armchair developers?

It's actually OK to like and play both games

Well, it was you originally trying to equate CIG´s business practices with FDEV´s, or at least making them look like peers on that regard (which is a bit tiring). When it is clearly not the case. By far. If you are happy with CIG dumping all the risk of non delivery and waste of 350+ mil on you that is fine. FDEV just does not seem to do that as a core business model.

When the same talking point get chewed over again everytime something positive enter this thread about SC you begin to wonder what the real issue is in here.

The way Little Ant was treated in here the other day was pretty shocking, the surrender thing, where did that come from? because he's not constantly depressingly negative.

I've absolutely no idea...I just fly pixel space ships in both games and generally enjoy the experience... I don't do business or forum politics. Considering I'm the epitome of apparently deeply misguided idiots having spent a considerable amount of time and money supporting Star Citizen...as well as ED, I seem to have an easy time of it on here...no idea why 🤷‍♂️

A mixed bag i suspect, i think it would depend very much on how many hours they have in the game, old citizens like me are tired of waiting for promised content and are tired of seeing the same bugs patch after patch.

Someone much fresher to the game would for the most part probably find it quite positive to very positive, it is a very good game.

Which is again why I posted Kate's video content...compared to the likes of you and I, Kate is a paragon of positivity seeing the same tired old game full of bugs that we play viewed through fresh, unbiased eyes.

I went out and did some bounty hunting and box deliveries this morning...something out of the ordinary for me. Kates videos also showed me that I've become too set in the way I play so I went off in search of some of her enthusiasm :)

Extra resources here having the meaning of money, so those expansions are DLC's.

When you're reading that in 2013 or whenever it was the communication that each of these expanded features would come at an extra cost post launch is about as clear as mud, but it satisfies the lawyers.

DB clearly said that the major DLC like planet landing and on foot experience would be paid DLC.

The surrender thing was out of order. But Ant gets stick generally not for being positive about SC, but blindly positive. 'Server Meshing coming🤘' when it’s almost 3 years late already. An internal UI tool being a sign of the ever-promised content-splosion. Absurdities, simplifications and memory-hole-ings that would make an actual shill blush.

Keeping track of how many times CIG’s promises for specific advances have fallen through isn’t negative. It’s just factual ;)

DB said some stuff...CR said some stuff...some stuff is unlikely to happen due to finances, development costs and business contraints in both cases. Both DB and CR are heads of studios selling their product to an audience at the end of the day. Whether I'd trust the word of one over the other is down to personal perception, past history in the field of game development...or whatever bias I care to throw in to try and convince other people...

In my eyes, DB has the edge, purely from the business accumen and past history as a developer...but that's just me ;)

Keep posting them they are a delight to watch :)

i don't play it as much as i used to but i still enjoy it when i do.
I think we can all get burned out on a game eventually, and its good to take break, maybe even a long break.

3.14 has some new stuff in it, i think Kate will love what it has in store for her.

There is no excusing that for the perception of what he did.

That was my comment. What I saw was LA constantly try to bait people by sniping at other games and trying to derail this thread. It seemed very trolly behaviour. He also seemed bent out of shape over a comment regarding fun.

So I made a comment regarding a lack of humour and then thought if you are happy dishing this stuff out, let us see if you are happy receiving it and switched out the word humour for the other one.

FTR: I couldn't care less about any stupid idea regarding surrender or any such nonsense.

I didn’t excuse it. I agreed it was out of order.

I then talked about the broader criticism which Ant also receives, the vast majority of which doesn’t involve needless attacks, but merely critiques his sillier uber-positivity posts. And I was saying those are perfectly fine :p

while you are looking you grab the one about there being "meaningful pvp" in elite.

and if you are really having fun searching for stuff, look for the clip several years later when someone asked in a live stream if we would ever get "meaningful pvp" and the community manager laughed hysterically.

Assumptions backed up by blanket statements doubled down by more assumptions and there we go, righteous in a bigoted slur at his nationality..

This was the first thing that hit me about this thread, a small number people either making a lot of assumptions or looking for reason to react to people in a way that is beyond reason.
