Worse genetics in sandbox than before

Animals are always happy in sandbox, if you want it. You just have to disable animal wellfare in the options (that's not even a new option).
But why to turn off welfare when only population is the problem? But we are spamming now. This topic should be about genetics :)

Yes - and the cure for those terrible genetics in the sandbox-market: A refresh-button that refreshes the animal market instantly (regardless of how long you pause your game).
That would work too, instead of buying animals to accomplish the same result

Sorry, I meant, this topic is about worse genes since the last update. Not suggestions about changing genes by yourself etc. This is a bug what we were talking about.

This topic opened up the fact that a lot of players would rather not have to deal with the random odds with getting the animals they want in sandbox

I don't think there is a bug. They were always crappy, but there was a bug which dressed up the crappy genetics by underlying the wrong colours, which is now gone.

Edit: Didn't you wonder, why animals looking nearly decent when buying got total crap as soon as you placed them in your habitat? That's gone now.

0 % was always red. There were never 4 animals when 2 had 0 % in 2 traits and the other 2 had 0 % at 1. If you buy like 50 of them, there's majority (very vast majority) of them with at least one trait 0 % and other traits around 30-50 %. This wasn't before.
I know about the color bug but it was at "borders" when red was changing to orange and orange to green (i think that's 30 % and 50 % mark or something). But this is new. I never ever had even one animal with 2 traits on 0 %. Now they are everywhere.

Ok, convinced. You seem to have done a lot of testing, so maybe you are right. :)

I can confirm. I just had to go through a dozen male sable antelopes in the market to find one that even had decent stats, let alone good ones, and I was only looking for size and fertility. In almost every case one or both of those genes, never mind the other two, were in the low orange to red zone. The best one I could find after thirteen attempts had a barely-green fertility gene, I think 80% on size, 3% on immunity, and longevity was low-orange. This was also an animal marked 'silver'.

Has anyone noticed if the franchise 'Frontier Zoo' has worse stats than before? (I haven't been in franchise lately). I wonder if they downgraded the game provided animals to encourage more trading between players and just used the same animal base in both franchise and sandbox.

I always thought those were bad anyway but after scrolling through multiple species - it looks like genetics got worse for Frontier Zoo animals.

I think that's the issue with Sandbox Mode, since all the market animals are technically from the "Frontier Zoo".

I know. What I mean is ... have they downgraded all animals coming from the 'Frontier Zoo' in order to encorage people to trade more with each other in Franchise and that downgrade was also applied to Sandbox (ie; lower quality frontier zoo animals being a global thing).

Haven't checked challenge mode but imo sandbox and franchise $ animals look slightly worse. I don't think the CC animals from Frontier are that different.

I mostly play in Sandbox mode, and the genetics lately have been HORRIBLE. I have yet to see an animal with more than one green stat, and the green stat is around 70%. Most have two yellow stats that are around 30-50%, and the red stat is really low-almost 0.

Please, PLEASE fix this problem.
