The jokes became stale after 3 years.Only 2 space MMO that are not building games. ED players are depressed because they are loosing one and the other is the one they joked about (and don't make them laugh anymore).

That the narrative is shifting once again. You'll see soon that only the true believers knew SQ42 never was the priority.Now... what are you trying to say here?
Correction: it’ll be missing 108 systems, rather than 109. That’s assuming they finally complete their first system, naturally. The day SC gets its second system will be the day the game will be missing its 98 systems, as opposed to 99. Yet another triumphant 1%.
No. We are a lot (me included) to wait for SQ42. The fact that SC is more and more enjoyable patch after patch can switch priorities for some others. But only a true hater can make a big deal of itThat the narrative is shifting once again. You'll see soon that only the true believers knew SQ42 never was the priority.
Here you go:I don't follow SC much, so i don't know how much they delivered on their Early Promisses.
2016 wants its comment back. The day SC will release it's second system will be hard on the ED community.
There's always that argument about spending time on this or that. "We'd rather they spend time on fixing things". But the fact is, they never spend time on fixing past things, so it's always spending time on other stuff or nothing at all.Lots of differing opinions of course, but i think the reason some people don't want FD to do interiors is due to the time and effort they would require as opposed to other things people think are more of a priority.
Of course, if people don't care for walking around inside ships, and FD added then, they don't need to, but they might bemoan the fact that the development effort went into that instead of (for example) atmospheric planets.
In SC (just to keep things on topic) you have to walk through your ship, time and time again. No low-fidelity teleport to cockpit options! A lot of people like this of course. For those who don't care for ship interiors though, there is no escape from it.
ED is not done yet. It seems to me, they announce and add things as they get completed, or near completion, so Im confident they'll do the same with ship interiors and everything on that list.I don't follow SC much, so i don't know how much they delivered on their Early Promisses. But Elite always had Ship Interiors on a Road Map. It was never a question of what players wanted or not. It was part of a package players backed 7 or was it 8 years ago? When CM said " Ship Interiors don't have gameplay - so why we aren't doing them " - a lot of people that backed this game felt betrayed by those words.
Star Citizen on the other hand already has Ship Interiors and even Eva.
Do we think SQ42 is not going to happen at all or is all the furore about its delay?
Think what you want. I for one want it to release. Not because I want to play it or that I think it'd be good, but because I paid for it and because whatever it'll end to be it'll be a good perspective to see if CIG can fulfill their self-inflicted tech and ethical debt of BDSSE, or not.Do we think SQ42 is not going to happen at all or is all the furore about its delay?
I think the devs would rather CR just shut up, which is perhaps why he's not been on our screens for what was it about 18 months? Before his completely pointless appearance last week.I think what we think matters very little. Ask rather CIG how confident they think they are, they were the ones putting out those expectations for delivery and cashing in backer funds in exchange for those. First for 2014, then 2015, then 2016 with a full trailer real and a now infamous "Answer the Call 2016", then came in "Answer the Call 2017", then silence, then Beta in Q2 2020, then beta Q3, then nothing, then "it will be ready when it is ready". All the while cashing in very real hard earned money in exchange for those promises.
Let me get the question back at you, did CIG think SQ42 was not going to happen in each and every one fo those occasions? Or is the furor about simply pointing at facts?
That SQ42 was an interesting idea in 2015, then COD:IW pretty much released a very polished, slick and capable version of it in 2016. Now, in 2021 the FPS part of SC is infinitely worse (pardon the pun) than what IW was half a decade ago. Whatever SQ42 is going to be, if anything, is going to be a weak version of a five year old game.Now... what are you trying to say here?
SQ42 is a set of linear missions with some flying and some shooting. It's incredibly simple in scope. That's the problem, SQ42 is not a lie, but it is hugely complex and difficult and CR is perpetually of the mind that its only 2 minutes from being ready.
Well if you really think that after 7+ years of failed promises and deliveries while raking in millions then I think I have a huge bridge to sell you. A couple hiccups or even three, pass. When we are reaching a systematic recurrent trend it is more likely to be an actual intended process.... and CR is perpetually of the mind that its only 2 minutes from being ready.

I can accept CR has some genuine talents but is also a bit of clown and no one should listen to him, even in hindsight. Its a lesson learned, but a clown making promises out of ignorance that were never going happen is not a reason for me to write the project off entirely. If you really think that after 7+ years of failed promises and deliveries while raking in millions I think I have a huge bridge to sell you.
Either way, how ethically sound you think is CIG retaining all the cash received in exchange for all those failed promises over 7 years?
Ah, the silly goose naïve theory, poor CR, tsk tsk. Well, again, if you really think that after 7+ years of failed promises and deliveries while raking in millions then I think I have a huge... but a clown making promises out of ignorance that were never going happen is not a reason for me to write the project off entirely.

When discussing the investment money in their financial blog, CIG firewall it from player funding. IE for 2019:
Total Pledges & Income: $60,717,000
Total Costs Capex & Investment: $70,431,000
= -$9,715,000
Cumulative Net Position: -$2,720,000
But...
Cumulative Net Position After Investments: $60,530,000
Due to the $45m in 2018 & $17.25m in 2019.
That's the problem, EDO is not a lie, but it is hugely complex and difficult and whiners are perpetually of the mind that its only 2 clics from being patched and having their own wanted features in.That's the problem, SQ42 is not a lie, but it is hugely complex and difficult and CR is perpetually of the mind that its only 2 minutes from being ready.
