Those are definitely some very interesting stats!
Having data on things is always handy. Down to Earth Astronomy has collected data on viewers opinion on Oddsey, and has been doing so for months. The data set is in the 10's of thousands of people.
Meanwhile, I've also been playing close attention to my analytics which is in the millions. The story is very telling.
I'd love to see the data Frontier has!

if fdev's data was good, they would be boasting about it. it's not likely we'll ever get that kind of data since it would impact stock price and require a lot of hands to pass thru and by the time it got to us, worded in such a way that nobody could trust it hasn't been spun every way to sunday.

40% to 50% drop in interest in Elite.
There's plenty of ways to interpret that. Doesn't necessarily mean it's due to Odyssey etc. Could also be due to my coverage of the game etc.
Later this week I will do a historical comparison on older Elite videos to see if interest in them has also dropped / changed.
At face value that explains FDs panic and volte face with EDO comms.
At a deeper level I can exclusively reveal (being an Armchair Psychologist with elbow patches and all) its down to lack of Powerplay updates.
I'll be interested in what you find out.
lack of player owned and pilotable Dredgers. Players have had lots of time to accept that Fdev hates powerplay almost as much as the players hated CQC when it came out.
Interest will go down and up and down - bit like my shares - as a kickstarter backer I’m in it for the long term - hope they fix it though
Powerplay does not exist, it's a myth.
It's just a story told to scare children.....
