Latest stream has more dislikes than likes... FD are you listening?

Hey Piglet,

At the moment we're focusing on some of the big hitter feedback regarding PowerPlay that have been circulating for a while, for example, the idea of 'Open-only' PowerPlay. We're weighing up the pros and cons of both, as well as the technical aspect, and once we have a decision we'll feed that back, but I can't put a timescale on that considering a lot of focus is on Odyssey at the moment. Once we have a handle on the bigger things, I think it would be a good idea to have a focused feedback thread.
Half of the player base doesn't want PPOO, why don't you focus on something more important that everyone wants? Cockpit Cats for example! :D

In all fairness, Zac didn't address the etc. bit :p

Being serious though, the one area that's still being tip toed around is performance, particularly whether there will be any updates between now and the consoles release.

"We don't have an update at this time" is not an answer to a yes/no question, by the way.
You asking a yes/no question doesn't mean FD has a yes/no answer to give

I thank you for finally saying something about PowerPlay.

But seriously, what you bring to us after all this time is simply the beaten-to-death 'Open Only' anything in a game that equally supports 3 different modes?

If you take an existing ED feature and make it open only will you be offering refunds to console users who do not have subscriptions and will no longer get to have the same game in every mode? Will it be forcing instancing despite how bad the ping between two users may be, or something in place to prevent port blocking or any other ways to make it harder to get instanced with others in Open?

Of all the PP suggestions you seem to be looking at the most divisive rather than the ones that improve the feature itself. ED with its split-platform, P2P instancing can never become an EVE Online. And making a feature rely on the instancing when folks may have trouble even getting instanced with friends will show how it does not work... very well.

Just wondering why the other 39 streams haven't been massively downvoted then?
In a free and democratic society, I have never seen voting as essential to the process, what what

What we need is a system where some highly valued and trusted individual is in charge, first among equals so to say.

We can call it Democracy+, kind of catchy

And...........those 3 modes don't work with Powerplay- fortification too easy in solo, too easy to quadruple combat merits in PG while Open is potentially the hardest out of all of them.

Thats not equal, is it?

Like I said earlier, rather than see Powerplay smeared over all modes, make tasks to fit each mode but make the tasks themselves interlock. That way solo people get a slice of the action that suits them, while open gets a reason too- but neither trips the other up.

I think you're making a different point from what i was making.

What you seem to be talking about is more to do with the risk of preordering or trusting the devs will add later content that matches your hopes for the game.

Always a risky business that ;)
The points are linked tho. Players who are asked to trust in FD, if they feel down the road that trust was broken then one may expect them to voice that , and one way to do it is via feedback on streams.
For the record I don't use the dislike button. I get why people do but I tend to either leave positive thumbs up or none at all.... But that is not to say players shouldn't use the thumbs down if they feel it is appropriate, and it isn't for other people to say what is and isn't appropriate imo.

Content which matched MY hopes for the game was always a big ask... But adding content which THEY outlined , that was what I expected. (Note I know they didn't PROMISE anything etc etc etc)

its almost like people are watching it after the fact because they live in other countries and couldn't watch it when it was live

IKR. The beauty of youtube / twitch is you can do exactly this!

1 - read through all the PP discussions and figure out whats best for the feature and the community - too much to read, no TLDR, next.
2 - improve power play - complex, lots of work, too much effort, next
3 - lock it to a mode - easy, just press this button.

Done, lets sign off on #3. We can play the we listened card and also the we improved PP card ;)
At least, that's what it feels like sometimes.

or somewhat along these lines... but even this is too much effort.

Hey Danieros,

This is exactly why it's not going to be a quick fix. We're looking at what's best for the health of PowerPlay and what works for the majority of players who partake in it. It's impossible to please everyone in a scenario like this but we want to take the time to work through player thoughts about it and decide what we can do.

I can't speak to how PowerPlay has been addressed in the past as I only started in December of last year, and the current community team really only formed in it's current shape around the first half of 2020, so anything before that we can't really impact on.

Let me weigh in on the whole 'thumbs down' thing.

Is it demoralising? Speaking personally, yes - especially when I put so much time into these streams on a weekly basis, and try to gather what information I can to share with you all. I'm sure the rest of the team feel the same way.

But that said, that's what the system is there for, if you are unhappy, I don't blame you for using the thumbs down button - I prefer that to personal attacks 😅

At time of posting the latest live stream has more dislikes than likes... And even slightly negative comments were being censored, meanwhile, the game is broken in many ways worse than ever.
hardly any time was given to the server "update" which ironically included a fix for putting out fires... But mostly we just got MORE screenshot filler and CM's messing about with fa off,
please devote at least one stream a week with developer's present to answer our questions not DELETE them.

Communities have been known to show their displeasure about a separate issue by like bombing streams/videos. We're seeing it and we're listening, even if there's no more we can share about those issues just yet. When we're in a better position to give game news we're keen to get developers on to discuss it.

We hope that despite there being no new info on the issues, some of the audience enjoyed the stream for what it was. RE censoring comments, ourselves and the mod team only look to remove inflammatory comments rather than negative criticism. If negative feedback is given constructively, we welcome it.

At the risk of beating a horse in dire health: surely you can at least confirm or deny that there are currently plans to release further optimization improvements before the console launch? While I appreciate you cannot provide solid dates or information about it, rough outlines should not be impossible. :/

Whenever we're in a position to confirm an update, we do. At the moment, we can't give any outlines/dates etc. but I can assure you the dev team are working on performance/optimisation as a matter of priority.
