Latest stream has more dislikes than likes... FD are you listening?

VR in Odyssey is supported just like in Horizons, just not any further. VR on foot is not in development and isn't even planned at the moment. If that changes they will let us know. Why is this so hard to understand?
because...

1. the current VR solution in Odyssey on foot is at best a 'work around' at launch solution just to get something up and running... its basically rubbish and barely any better than desktop projection which you can do in any game. So no I completely reject the notion that its supported, it uses a kludge which I get they needed to do day one but to have no plan or future isn't acceptable unless you're an non-VR user in which case who cares right?

2. frame rate and performance is crucial to VR, you can't have a situation where frame rate tanks and it being VR compatible/supported the two are incompatible

3. because VR renders high resolutions you can't just take the HMD off and play on a 1440p monitor expecting it to work as if your PC only has to display that image it is still rendering the VR image so you suffer the same performance penalties in 2D as you would in VR unless you restart the game in purely 2D monitor mode, that's no solution

4. there are a lots of VR issues, bugs and problems that we aren't seeing any resolution to, they aren't being addressed or even discussed

5. according the last scrap of info no VR development is planned, nothing at all nvm on foot in Odyssey its fixes only (which seems to have problems too see point 4)

If you are a VR user all five of those are a problem, now do you understand?

That doesn't mean I have to be nice to @Bottom Hat on the forum, Nooooooo!!!

they made exception for that case, bit like the commodore computers interrupts routines.:)

sorry @Bottom Hat

No apology needed gents, I understand ;)

I'm stealing the stuffz off @Bottom Hat

Over my cold zombie corpse you are!

I think this discussion is treading into specific moderation actions against specific users and posts.

Let's not, as this is against the forum rules.

Oh it's ok Rooty, the above vagabonds are already on the naughty step. That is unless you are trying to get my stuphs? If that is the case, there will be a rather grand hullabaloo over the matter! ;)

You should hear what "the Disgruntled" call us directly and personally that you don't see. Yikes!

Always appreciate the reminder, of course and there are so very many wonderful Commanders who understand how things work.
Some just like to "beat the blind man", and that's sad. Total waste of their energy, but still sad.
End of the day people who cross the line and go on the attack personally should be banned simple as that, possibly timed 1st then the hammer.
That being said other members of the community don't help either with insults thrown at the people who are sometimes unable to play the game even , or otherwise disappointed at the direction of the game.
Maybe they don't do it now but FD DO have form for over selling imo and any paid up customer attempting to remind FD (as a company ) of the product they sold and trying to hold them to that vision should not be expected to be insulted by other members as being entitled brats, or petty minded or any of the other phrases used over the years (aimed at no individual specifically).
IF that vision is no longer the goal of FD and they are no longer working to that and instead have a new (maybe better) vision for the product I think do owe it as a courtesy to the "disgruntled" to a discussion about What has changed and why, and how this new direction may be better...... But pretending things like the DDF never existed **** or new planet types to land on (in horizons - volcanic worlds) or new SRVs to drive were not used as hooks for sales does not help imo.

**** I know no promises were made but we were asked to make a leap of faith, the least FD can do is keep us informed of those features for instance)

This is exactly what I meant by "it works just like Horizons". You have the same experience except for on foot, that's the flat monitor and that's here to stay. A workable solution for now yes, but as I said there are no plans to improve it any further than that at this point and we have to accept that. Asking 10 times more won't change the outcome.

Framerate is a general issue with the game now, and as stated by FDev it's neither where they want it to be, nor what they intended it to be. I can image how terrible VR must be in Odyssey currently, but other than the work on VR itself, performance is still a high priority and is actively being worked on.

VR bugs and issues are still on their agenda, which they also stated.

Funnily enough rightly or wrongly FD may have made a rod for their own back here. Back in the day engineering was very different to now.
Ships like the vulture and FDL cost way more money

Wear and tear hurt

Black markets were not on the map and had to be found.

We had finite planet scanning balls and then would have to manufacture or buy more

Fuel was expensive

They completely changed shield balance

All of these things and probably more FD also stated were working as intended And not getting changed however they backtracked after complaints (for the record not from me... I liked all those things)

Oh and ship transfer was for a short time going to be instant. I DID moan at that so I am not saying it's always bad imo.

But the squeeky wheel has gotten the greese on more than 1 occasion with ED so maybe that is why some people keep the faith and carry on hoping.

nothing is different about the stream, the circumstance changed. People are mad because they spent their hard earnt money on an expansion they cant even play. CANT PLAY.

and you say these angry people are petty.
Oh look, another suss new account only g Elite. I bought it, I can play it fine. I take it that by using the third person term 'they' that you never bought it? If that is so, please don't speak on my behalf, I don't recall choosing you (or any others for that matter) to represent my views singularly or as an Odyssey purchaser in general. Thanks.
