Big Elite Streamers Giving Up On Streaming Elite?

engineer grind, to the extent that I'm simply refusing to engage in it beyond G3, and not even bothering to unlock most of the engineers as a result.
Sorry ...ship's engi get G5 automatically when u played enough. I'm full on mats of almost everything. I do random G5 just to spend some mats.
Different story with on-foot though. The fact they put 3 categories in the same bag with 1000 joined limit is bad. This fact makes hard grind.

I'd much prefer engineering based on having to do missions for an engineer that got harder the more you wanted.

That would be great in addition. The advantage the current system has though is I can be doing other things alongside, killing traders for my faction for example, collecting materials on the way then deciding how to spend them later. So ideal world, yes to "both". (that does not mean dismantling one first though)

Whoever did "hate threads" on forum did cause they wanted to, Hawkes didn't paid them, told them to do so or something.
This is called responsibility. Streamers often do that, throw something in masses pretending they just said so.
Like (just example from real life!) - "covid vaccine is a fake, Bill G. puts a chip in u"...done + 1000 000 ppl who will reject to do it.

The example shown is a lie, AKA fake news.
Do you care to show where did Hawkes lied on his video?

Do a required action once, and make it fun. Thats all I'm asking for :D

Complexity can come from managing relationships between engineers. Why is it the lawful ones don't hate the unlawful? If this was so, you could then have it so you can't have all engineering available because some engineers won't speak to you.
That, and also for the love of what's holy, make it a bit more coherent. Why do I have to deliver cat media in order to upgrade suits and weaponry? Why do I need to deliver cigars, what on earth is another trying to do with 200t of landmines? It's all so random and disjointed - we're conditioned to it ('just get on with it and do it, that's the requirement' /shrug) but I sometimes wonder what a new player makes of all this.

Just to compare and contrast how things work elsewhere: last night in X4, I tried to buy a ship, at a shipyard. However I couldn't because the station was short of hull parts (it even tracked how many units for each of the various ships on offer). So I could either wait until the in-game economy delivered more stock over time, or I could've just gone to a hull parts factory and supplied them myself. Player agency and internal consistency. AWOL in Elite more often than not.

I was talking about on-foot only. Ship engineering is in a decent place (by Elite's standards at least).

Do you care where I said he did that?
I was referring that guy with outdated NS.
And hawkeys just made some video with +4 threads where he could be just silent if he cared the game as he says.

Or:

"So you want an uprated laser? Well, I can do that for you but in exchange I want you to smuggle some drugs for me"

"If you want me to make things for you, you have to prove your worth. Go and kill a competitor who has been annoying me [gives assassination mission]"

"This is a tricky piece of work, I'll need some specialist components from the Empire. [Gives mission]- steal some from here [generates POI] and get back to me. Oh, and by the way, don't get caught- I don't want any heat on me."

This is what I'd love. No need to scour bits of mats / log enough / trade enough the bits you can't find - everything you need is in that mission, it has consequences in C+P, other engineers, has actual stakes.

Then modules you gain are directly attached to stories and rewards- much like CG module rewards.

We are talking about hawkes(hes on the quote you answered to), yet you keep bringing the only one lying video you've "seen" amongst dozens to justify your points, it is getting old real quick.
Hawkes made the video PERIOD. +4 threads is none of his business nor his "fault", how is going silent good for anything? so he would have to answer daily tons of messages on why he's not covering elite anymore? He doesn't has to have responsibility whatsoever with Frontier, he has responsibility with himself and his fanbase
You still didn't fully answered me, as you've been quoting only few words of my long replies.

Which one is to blame, FDev which screwed the release and most stuff they said afterwards, or the "press" covering it as it is, a terrible release?

1st - FDevs, they got it. Took 2-3 days for them, but we could see they REALLY FIX it in 2 weeks. My 1050 2Gb card felt OK / acceptable in 2 weeks - which means fixes are IN PROGRESS.

2nd - press AFTER 2nd fix because press still enforces things, instead showing good things happened. If I would press, I could do comparison of 1st day (when I hated it) and 15th day when I finally saw the game.

Something like Down to Earth Astronomy made about AMD Fed. Cas comparing it on/off. That only positive I can recall.

if you get out of your personal bubble a bit, you will see that the game is still broken and uneven for a lot of folks(low cards somehow gets good fps, high end cards gets terrible fps, even similar cards getting abysmal performance differences), there is no praise to be given on doing the BARE MINIMUM, and then supposedly going radio silent while the game runs on 20 fps for some.
in every update there was a different video, and yet in every update or forum post Frontier was able to screw something up, new bugs, not fixing old ones, delaying fixes, same low fps, promising communication and dropping a week later, dropping promisses, you name it.
Nobody in its sane mind would condone that cause "oh they fixed the UI they screwed up on odyssey! Look they half fixed the lighting after ONE MONTH of "stable release". Look now neutron stars are again AS THEY WERE BEFORE ODYSSEY SCREW THEM UP.

Like seriously, press has nothing to do with it, the ship is sinking cause the captain decided to crash it on the big rock, not cause some sailors decided to criticize the captain due to said behaviour

That sounds like the rank unlock missions for the Feds and Imps, I don’t recall many players that think they’re good.

They aren’t saying anything positive because there is nothing positive to say about Odyssey.

FDEV do not deserve praise for “fixing” something they released in a crippled, broken Alpha state. Perfomance and optimisation should’ve been done before release. `

Nobody in its sane mind would condone that cause
Maybe you never wrote software. Last 7 years I'm fixing "almost done, just small thing left" soft. Usually this means 90% to trash and write from scratch. And it takes time.
So I see FDevs really work hard, I see that on small changes nobody even noticed. So well, more blames will not help here but will do things worse for sure. At some moment they may lose any motivation to continue at all.

Small example of stress - did you noticed they "broke" pythons in 5 ? In such a way so I assume they were using that model for debug testing outfitting, just to skip extra clicks. And that went to release. Why ? Because push & stress. We're all people. Next server update they silent fixed that as it should.

No, if ED ends prematurely it will be fdevs fault. Streamers, whiny babies, and the angry-ex-boyfriends of the forum just don't have that power, if the game is good.

True in the final analysis probably. It does make a difference whether people choose to support the game through a tricky time or put the boot in though. The riskiest thing to do though is choose a moment when the game get's it's funding to try to effect the change you want because you can argue good ideas will always float to the top too .. but not if the funding rug gets pulled out by hysterics.

Again, quoting like 1/10 of my text again, with nothing cohesive to add. I don't need to write code to get mad at an unfinished product. as i dont need to be an engineer to get mad cause my car isn't working 10 minutes after i bought it, and if keeps not working for a month after, i'll still be mad, don't much care if he went from 10km/h to 15, he should be going at 180. What do matter to the end user(consumer) is the product. If it was with minor bugs that happens, but theres nothing "only" minor going on.

If it takes some time, they could have something to test things out, you know, LIKE A BETA? or QA personnel? Or someone else to test rather than the end consumer? Praising them for doing the bare minimum is harmful, cause they will keep shipping MVP's cause people will always pat their backs for doing so. They need to be called out, and untill this mess is fixed, they either will lose their ED broad audience for some big ed youtubers, or they will keep doing content on elite showing what it is right now, a bugfest running at 20 fps.

They are making people lose the motivation to play their own game, yet you are calling youtubers out, instead of them. Seriously everything you said sounds to me like low effort company advocacy. I honestly kinda of gave up on getting mad, and went to accept that FDev doesn't care about my complaints or reports, neither they do to people like you, trying to argue that they are right cause they are fixing what they broke, they don't care about neither of us, but at least one of us knows they don't.

I can't keep up with this cause you wil probably choose like 6 words to answer and derail the conversation again so i'll end here.
