Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I had a go at it a couple of days ago, you get a lot less ballistic ammo now, about 850 rounds instead of about 3000, and you can't just BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR them until you run out, they over heat after short bursts but are also devastating on the target, pew pews while infinite are similar, they run out of charge after short bursts and if you keep using them right after a charge cycle over and over again the charge and fire rate slows.

Its clearly designed to make you use your noggin, if you don't, if try to spray and pray you will be defenceless in under a minute.

I like it. :)

I did forget to try out missiles, i might go back and do that at some point, the 325A has a pair of size 4 racks in a trap door on the underside between the wings, they have never worked and given that now you can select between different missile types you may have installed before firing them its worth testing to see if they finally fixed it, those twin size 4 racks along with the size 4 chin mount are what make the 325A the one with the punch out of the 300 series line, would be nice to use those size 4's.
One thing I did notice, you can't lock and fire missiles and use the guns at the same time...selecting missiles disables the guns and vice versa...it's one or t'other, you can't fire the guns and lock and launch a missile at the same time like you used to be able to.

This mythical Squadron 42 is supposed to be offline single-player, yes?
I guess now it is. I backed it as a coop-able campaign leading into the open star citizen universe, though.

Nobody has actually 'bought' SQN 42 anyway. For the last few years, it's been included free with most of the game packages. Even going back a fair while to pre 3.0...you could add Sqn 42 to your original game package for an additional $15 :D

I'm quite sure I paid for SQ42 and SC, back when I backed it. They were not separate games though.

The 20 engineers in the server meshing team perhaps ?

It's 25, and that's about the worst example of successful scaling you could have opted for. Given Server Messing still isn't a thing, leaving the alpha on placeholder networking which is unable to support the planned solar system expansions or retain performance once players visit the currently added assets, and this was all supposed to have been sorted in 2018.

But other than that, great example ;)

We can at least already hear them

Weeping whales eh? Haunting...

Unable to support before SM. Planned to support it after SM. That's what the alpha of SC is used since the beginning, for adding tech.
Before the volumetric cloud tech : no volumetric clouds. After : presence of volumetric clouds.

Before Vulkan : some fps. After Vulkan : better fps.

Etc

Not like they've had 10 years to work on the basis of their game and instead focused on raising more funds to work on the basis of their game by selling pretty ships or anything.

Or have been saying said tech "will be done next year" for the past 5-6 years.

Do we do ships in front of things here?

Upgraded most of the bits on the Aurora that seem reasonable to, so i guess it's time to grind out some credits for a larger ship

Depends on the mining loop, and could just rent a ship to try eventually?

Probably prefer to shoot stuff, i did an on-foot cave bounty hunt and it was not great. Very tight spaces, lots of clipping and getting stuck, NPCs standing about doing nothing and almost no hint where they are, until one decided shoot thru a wall and boxes and killed me with a brief burst...
Any there any bounty hunts in settlement buildings? Otherwise the ship-to-ship hunting i guess at the mo.

Will aim for a Cutlass i think, as it seems like a Python proxy. Can do a bit of combat, trading, etc.
