Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Yeah, beholden was the wrong word. I should have said invested in it suceeding, and yes, i understand it doesn't apply to everyone.

And there are people who are in for just a base package that are more invested in the game that are in for thousands.
I quite regularly get out-fanboi'd in global chat by $50 peasants in game :D

But then again, most of us as backers have already written off the amount we've backed for. There never was any money back guarantees and Star Citizen was never an investment...certainly not one I'd invest in :)

Its meme day!

My general point was meant to be: people spend their money on stuff. That could be food, watching sports, whatever, but end of the year many hobbies have given non-tangible returns in the way of experiences and little else.
Spending on videogames is mostly intangible, that digital "ultimate" copy of Assassins Creed Valhalla is unlikely to be worth anything in the future except the fun you had. Some might see it as a waste, other think it's worth buying vs the basic version. So not having anything more than fun and entertainment is fine IMO.

Anyways... someone was logging off and lent me their MSR last session, let me blow away some HRT and group-HRT bounties for more monies, and interesting checking out a bigger ship.
Unfortunately i couldn't seem to buy more ammo, is this a bug? Or do you need to be at certain stations or do they need to restock before you can rearm?

😉 Fishing: A hobby where people invest hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to catch something that you can buy for less than $5/lb at the supermarket...

It's a very oddly first world thing though. There are places where people don't get to eat that fish each day. I wonder how we got so out of whack sometimes, then people with red caps come after we like I'm a heretic or something. ;)

Also what does "gf" mean?

I'd just taken off from Port Olisar in my Aurora MR and then got blown up by a "PvP player", no chance to avoid (i guess except to not take off the pad), so wasnt quite sure what he sent in global chat meant.

Sometimes rearm/repair doesnt work. Has been working for me for the most part lately. But like i've said before, i normally self destruct/suicide and pull another ship. Part of the reason is to not have to deal with rearm/repair bugs.

"gf" means "good fight"

Must be an ironic / trolly comment then, given he obliterated my little ship in a fraction of a second, and it'd be difficult to describe me fighting back  must be like the "pirates" in Elite, that dont have cargo racks fitted.

Pity about the ammo, as it was a borrowed ship i couldnt respawn it.

Griefers have their own esoteric language that is incomprehensible to those outside their childish clubs.

For example, in GTA they will write Lzzzzzzzzzzz, which means loser or lulz. Its not certain. Or they will write 1-0, as though you are in a competition with them and some how the fact they pressed X once and killed you from a distance with a homing missile indicates their superior skill.

gf is a new one to me, but i guess this is part of a courtship ritual and they are asking you to be their girlfriend. Griefers are unfortunately not very comfortable in social situations and getting a girlfriend that might succor their frustrations with life is quite beyond them. Thus they think by showing off their prowess in combat in a computer game, girls will be attracted to them.

The griefer here has assumed you are female and is now starting the courtship ritual. I believe the correct response now is to start hurling abuse at him through global chat so he knows you are interested in more intimate interactions..

Yours sincerely

Desmond Morris.

Hmm if the (Elite) Salty Doggo Club was anything to go by, responding to them meant you were griefed apparently, and hence mission accomplished. Best response was to ignore them really.
But i'll take that on board next time.

Note: i am a female avatar, so maybe they spotted my pert bottom in the station, and actually were trying to initial courtship? I have a great bottom!

Thanks for the link! Seems I'm not the only one with this problem!
Awesome, hope you get somewhere with things!

Not sure if this helps, but for my DualSense (PS5 controller) this is what happens when it's not detected / in exclusive mode / driver conflicts:

This is what my logs says when it works ok:

If i force-quit / end process on "Nvidia GeForce Experience" (and restart the controller app) it usually fixes things as thats the main culprit for clashes.
