FA off launch getting Yeeted sideways.

If you take off from a spinning large starport you now get thrown sideways. In Horizons you used to inherit some of the rotational momentum. I believe there may have been some blending that went on that is now missing in Odyssey. As when you land as well it judders underneath you like it's trying to match your ship with the rotating pad. Anyway this specific issue is to do with the violent flinging sideways as you take off in FA off that has now appeared.

If you are an FA off pilot I would apprecitiate 10 more cmdrs saying they can reproduce this bug on the issue tracker here:

Thanks so much

I've seen this too, but only occasionally. Never found a clear pattern to it as to why or when exactly it happens. Very confusing all the same. I didn't dock at an Orbis station yet in update 6, so I can't tell. But given its relative rarity I wouldn't expect a change. I wouldn't want to waste one of my 6 votes right now anyway, as there are way more glaring bugs at the moment.
Not asking for a vote mate, just need a confirmation with other cmdrs saying they CAN reproduce it if you can of course. Not asking you to waste a vote on something that can't be voted on till confirmed anyway. Appreciate the eyeballs though!

When seated in ship, look to right and check one of the panels after the one where lights and night vision are and see if “Rotational Correction” is turned off?

Rotational correction makes no difference to FA off flight (or shouldn't) Anyway tested both on and off and it doesn't make any difference

Time is not my problem and I'd really like to help you here as I also find this behaviour plain wrong. Problem is not only that I'm currently about to leave the bubble again (to be quite honest, I'm losing more and more my patience with their constantly failing bugfixing attempts, but escaping this nonsense is also becoming increasingly difficult). But mainly, when I still saw this for myself (that must have been somewhere before the last CG started as I did the whole CG mainly shieldless and in docking computer mode) I never saw this each time when I was docking. It appeared completely random to me.

Can you reliably reproduce it?
It seems to happen at varying degrees but happens each time yes, sometimes it's just a jitter and sometimes it's a full on YEET sideways. Landing also is now screwy.. the pad judders underneath you as if they are trying to match your ship to the rotation but doing it in steps that aren't quite right.

All issues on the issue tracker have to be repeatable or they won't accept it. But yes for me it is.

That sounds a bit different from what it was like for me. But every time it happened, it was extreme. Shieldless would probably have been fatal. I also played with rotational autocorrection on and off, but that never had any effect on me and in FA Off.
Yeah rotational correction is only there to help FA on boys.. Being FA off removes all those kind of assists.. or should at least!

there once was such a violent eject from pads that it caused heavy damage to small ships..
that was fun

I'm curious if this is similar or is it more a visual thing, like the video glitch and suddenly I am in a different location inside the station?

I have been seeing this a lot over the last 2-3 weeks and has caused me many crashes..
Because I seem to have no control over it I now usually first aim nose to mailslot, and hit boost and boost off the pad right out the slot., then I get the glitch but it doesn't matter cause I'm outside already
I get it often in dogfights too, dead on target on a ship, then a glitch and the target is suddenly 6 inches to the left
It feels like a time lag, then as the client clock syncs with the server clock, it jumps everything in the instance to where they should be if the clocks had never become un-synced.

If that is what it actually is..that needs fixing.
either way, it needs looking into.

Yeah it doesn't feel like a lag, as it shoves you physically off the pad to the side, I thought it only shoved you left but I've had one that shoved me right now too! definitely a physics type push rather than a lag and correction, although there is a seperate issue on the issue tracker for both the landing jitters and also leaving the station only to find yourself pushed off course when FA off, my hunch is they are all related but I'm isolating my issue for clarity.

I noticed this today as well - the previous weird FAoff behaviour after launching (which was like having a rogue thruster continually firing) has gone, but has been replaced by the initial lurch on take-off.

I’ve added to the report 👍

the rogue thruster, I have experienced a lot very recently.. several times yesterday is all I seem to recall, so newish.
once inside a station and several times after and during dogfights.

I had more glitches yesterday than dodds has little liver pills.

finally just parked and watched the stars..and tv
really sucks, trying to figure out why the ship isn't slowing or stopping and sometimes even speeds up..
I've been ramming into a lot of stuff over the last couple weeks.

It looks like Rotational Correction is the thing that’s playing silly sods - it looks like it’s also responsible for the disappearing NPCs on the concourses:

Looks like there’s still 5 confirmations to go on the OPs bug report:

…so come on my fellow FAoff’ers, gracefully glide past Issue Tracker and leave a confirmation 😁👍
Lol, thanks man! And don't forget to add that you CAN reproduce or else the algorithm ignores the post entirely. Fdev do be making us jump through hoops to fix their game over here!

added confirmation to both issues
