(I don't want to burnout before it's launched so planning to wait until no more wipes of gear) ... Out of curiosity (and with the understanding balancing may change) how long does it take to get the biggest ships currently in the game without being gifted cash , ships or any other help.
As new new player that didnt get any help, cash, and mostly did solo bounty hunting to earn aUEC (non-optimally):
I started 9th July, had 1.3mil by 20th July (11 days) around 2mil by 23rd July (14 days). That's raw days not hours played, and i cant recall how many or total hours (unless there's a stat somewhere), but rough "playing a few hours a day average" kinda timeframe.
Also being new i didnt know what i was doing for some hours, and inefficient just looking at stuff, or trying box and fps missions (taking 45mins to do a cave for 30,000 because getting lost etc). Those last 3 days for 700,000 aUEC so 250K a night was being more focused on bounty hunting. Only dabbling since and have another 800K with lots of sightseeing.
I'm sure you can hit better earnings / hour in a group sharing ERTs or whatever.
I'm at the point where i'd need quite a lot of time to get a bigger ship, say 5mil for a Mercury Star Runner or Constellation Phoenix which are approximately Asp size in Elite terms. A 600i is Python size and 10mil. But compared to 3300/3301 Elite earnings feel much faster.
Unless there's some sort of exploit, i'd not want to sink too much time either just to be wiped, but getting back to a cutlass shouldnt be too bad.
re: system specs. My laptop is diagnosed as below, which feels roughly right. 30fps in heavy performance areas. 60fps (capped via
sys_Maxfps = 60 in console box) in less intensive performance areas. With a general high-40s to 60 but i dont keep the counter turned on, and a lot of the time it is 60 dipping down to maybe 55fps. Fine for a casul console scrub like myself.
