I'm not always so keen on places charging for services, especially when they have traditionally provided information free of charge. However, I am certainly not a fan of ads.
Personally, an easy, but unobtrusive way to donate is the best way to get revenue from me.

When I was in a French hospital the clash of British tea with French was funny.
One day I'd get a bowl of hot water, a tea bag- the next, a bowl of milk, a bowl of water and a tea bag. I explained how the UK did it and the look of pain was amusing
But a bowl of the good stuff in the afternoon was epic.
