State of the Game

...Probably because I know that he most likely thinks much like I do, so it's possibly more a "me" than "them" thing. But still.
I hear what you're saying, but I don't think it is. I've been very lucky throughtout my career, and at various companies, to work with ex-military people, and the thing that generally singled them out was 'attitude'. Very positive once goals were agreed and set, and unfailing in effort, and if things hadn't worked out then there were reasons, and never excuses.

I'm not ex-military, but have always felt 'oh yes' when learning someone I was working with was. I also got to work along side (for a while) active service people (I've enjoyed my career) and that was a great experience.

Although, the jury for me is still out with ex-RAF.... (my godfather is ex RN, his brother ex RAF)

You mean, you lot taking him back is completely out of the question?

Our history of royals with American wives is 'not brilliant' to be honest, not that anyone much (except our gutter press) really gives a hoot.

In other shock headlines, Princess Diana used to use toilets just like 'we' do!!!*

e. * belatedly I realise that this makes little sense to anyone not exposed to the Daily Mail and Express. Sorry.

One of the things (and there aren't many) I am proud of in my life is the fact I didn't do drugs.
The only drug focused scenario that legitimises being proud, is when someone turns out to be getting easily addicted to them, and overcomes this flaw/perk of his brain wiring.

Being proud that you did not try something that COULD turn out addictive for you, but could also result in not so funny/interesting experience(s) and/or not resulting in triggering internal pressure to repeat the "intake" is... stretched rationalisation of your own choice, so to say.

Because whatever perception of this part of human life any person has, based on his/her own experience/observations/media/external sources etc,
it's probably biased in one or another direction, in reality it is very subjective and the impact of such "experiments" on life of one person can be absolutely different from the outcome in case of another person.

With exceptions of some extreme substances, but it does not have any impact on the correctness of above in "mainstream" selection of mind altering substances.

I'm pretty sure, based on recent information above, the you cannot include @Darth Ender in 'we'. (though I may be confused and it could have been @Rubbernuke )

Also, no worries, we 'merican cousins have our own set of daily trashy rags.
