They were all dogs of some sort or another, I thought. Although if memory serves, there was a cat in there and some mice as well. It was always the cartoon "that was just on in the background" as opposed to the ones I actually liked growing up, hahaha.

The prime minister Cardinal Richelieu became an old fox, and we added some characters such as D’Artagnan’s sidekick Pip – a mouse. Milady, the devious spy, was a cat. I’ve never been fond of cats.

These are the kind of rabbit holes I go down all the time lol. I also have a sufficiently bizarre memory that I could sing the theme to it even now, but I don't believe they provided a zoologically accurate provenance of secondary characters. You'd never get away with such a lack of attention to detail these days, oh for simpler times.Very true - even the lovely Anna seems to be joining in the act!
