Allow me:I was going to try and find a "Cletus"from the Simpsons picture for this thread, but I am incredibly fond of randomness, and this has simply made my evening!

You must be from the same part of the country as he...He didn't "mumble it". He clearly stated 200 of each was due to server restrictions.
the servers cost money per monthNow I kinda wish he did mumble it, because that's an embarrassingly stupid reason.
For anyone who thinks the answer from Zac was "muddled"...Check 13:10 and 22:45 from today's stream https://www.twitch.tv/elitedangerous/video/1128077105You must be from the same part of the country as he...
or possibly less background noise
Gosh... I'm glad you made the effort, I really appreciate it, you are so noice...For anyone who thinks the answer from Zac was "muddled"...Check 22:45 from today's stream https://www.twitch.tv/elitedangerous/video/1128077105
Yeah, with modules ok. (But they committed a million carriers and stuff... But whatever ok)the servers cost money per month
we pay the game once and play for years.
no wonder they try to keep servers costs to minimum
All of the stats need to be non-local stored - as we can login from any machine (I use 2 - PC & Laptop) it avoids synchronisation issues. With bookmarks.... Just store them locally! Who cares if players can manually edit their...bookmarks in a text editor....
I appreciate that sentiment, but it's 2021 and it shouldn't be an issue to have a thousand bookmarks or more. Even then, worst case they could be stored locally (like your visited stars data).the servers cost money per month

Exactly. All of the stats need to be non-local stored - as we can login from any machine (I use 2 - PC & Laptop) it avoids synchronisation issues.
(although the visited stars database is locally stored...)
I think my example was muddyExactly.
And you could just... I don't know if this is breaking the laws of in physics or revolutionising the world of computing but... You could even.....
Mark which character made the bookmark!!!!!!! You could just use their name, or maybe some computer wizard could come up with some kind of magical "ID" kind of thing? (Sorry this is just a vague concept right now!!!)
Sorry for the sarcasm it isn't aimed at anyone in an particular
As a trucker hopping around alot chasing the market tbe limit hits me often BUT WHY can we and still can only navigate the list fron top to bottom? The Nav panel can as you’d expect go both ways but the “longest list” can’t….The bookmarks thing amazes the heck out of me.
The obvious amount is infinite, why it can't be I don't have a clue.
Then... they re did the UI, and allowed them to be put into groups... but... didn't allow you to make your own groups or organise things how you actually wanted to.
It'd maddening.
To be fair the detail that was asked about is precisely the sort of thing Frontier is infamous for overlooking so it would be nice to have that verified internally prior to patch day. Also asking details from the CM team with no notice probably is going to show they don't have all the answers. Like - is that a Clipper or a Cutter?![]()
Yeah, with modules ok. (But they committed a million carriers and stuff... But whatever ok)
I think my example was muddy
With bookmarks: If they were locally stored and I made on this machine would not be visible on my other - nor if I visit a friend who plays and log in to my account on his PC.
Un-muddy now, I hope!
I don't believe your sarcasm was aimed at any participants here, either.
Pretty sure many many features that use server space (which is pretty darn cheap with the AWS systems they seem to use) are "subsidised" by other features that directly bring in Arx.Carriers are paying for that with cosmetics
But that doesnt really work for Bookmarks, right?
Allow me:

It is for Odyssey only though.

Come on.
