You say that as a joke, but have heard it said multiple times non-jokingly. More signs of Stockholm Syndrome. That's easy, because no one has invented server meshing yet!

It's a ship sale...Ci¬G are hinting we need to buy the right ships first before we all participateAh yes, defend the system... which will have what effect exactly?
I already mentioned that Xenothreat was a strictly marketing organised and run event...about a month ago...so why are we acting all surprised again?
It is honestly quite disconcerting when you come across an entire community that has apparently blocked out reality and is waiting with baited breath this and other "new technologies" CR has thought up to solve all their game issues and frustrations. Then if you question them on it, the standard answer is generally somewhere along the lines of; "No, this is all new, we are breaking new ground here, you have no clue about how MMO's work or how SC is being built".... then proceed to stick their fingers in their ears and chant la la la la la la when you say anything that makes sense, at least that's how I picture them. You say that as a joke, but have heard it said multiple times non-jokingly. That's why I keep getting banished from Spectrum...I have a habit of going in there and poking the loonies with a stick. There are quite a few normal-ish souls still about here and there. Unfortunately, most of us are just playing the game and whining about desync when we're not already 30k'd out of it. We're also not hanging around the Spectrum or sub-reddit echo chambers talking nonsenseIt is honestly quite disconcerting when you come across an entire community that has apparently blocked out reality and is waiting with baited breath this and other "new technologies" CR has thought up to solve all their game issues and frustrations. The penny should drop among the free-flyers a bit more after they sample yet another bitter taste of Ci¬G's marketing department event... If they're lucky, they may be able to start the Xenothreat thing...then discover that in order to continue, they need to pledge. The free-fly ends as Xenothreat beginsSo this little free flyer received the email, read it, and thought, amongst other things...
"Ok good work, CIG. Get those free flyers to keep playing. They might end up buying into SC at the end of the free fly."
"Cool, I might as well play a 4th SC session to work out combat."
Come back to the email 4 hours later to read carefully what I need to do.
...... Penny drops.
