State of the Game

The best ads were the Pot Noodle / Tango ones which made me laugh and were a bit edgier.

that was edgy and made you laugh? Must be a cultural thing. The voice over is suggesting some kind of sandwich i guess that is depressingly trashy sounding (white bread and ketchup and bacon?) while something unrecognizable but probably bacon is cooking in a pan on a stove that looks like another is cooking right next to it.. and i guess we're supposed to be clammering to make this ....whatever it is. and then it ends with some kind of can of orange drink.

dont get it. 0 stars.

Its actual bacon, not that overcooked card you Amerifolk think is bacon.

Having properly cooked bacon in a soft white roll and a squirt of ketchup is a thing of wonder.

And try telling someone they need to drink sugar free because they have no willpower today. People will flip out and hit Twitter like a plague of babies with full nappies regards fat shaming.

i'm not sure what you think american bacon is...but how long you cook it is not a national rule. What makes american bacon, american,.....is that it is in regular strips.

Not with a pork-chop like shape.

Also, have higher standards for your food. That sounds like what you would eat if your parents have cigarettes for breakfast.

American bacon is that crispy excuse for real food :D

Dry curing ones own bacon, slicing it just so, making the bread, having the bacon fat just seeping into the bread with a little melted butter and ketchup.

Delicious.

no. overcooking bacon makes it crispy.. some people like that burnt junk. many dont. cured, uncured...comes in both

bacon isn't supposed to be the thing you are eating though. you add it to things you are eating. Because you're not trying to kill yourself.

Proper bacon is a food of joy. Home curing also avoids having nitrites which are really for the pink colouration too.

Bacon butty and mugs of tea are a winner when there is a long day ahead.

I've never felt this more

you can buy bacon without nitrites being used in the curing process or buy uncured bacon. it's not expensive enough to have to make it yourself. 5 or 6 usd per pound. Thick cut with applewood smoked curing.

That's good bacon. But you dont just eat bacon. Or make a bacon sandwich. That sounds like the kind of thing a 5 year old would think up. Like candy for breakfast.

To be Honest, I had to google to see what "American Bacon" actually looked like.
It just looks like our streaky bacon, but has obviously come from a naturally rectangular pig - are there no variations?

EDIT: Images please

Then thats where UK and US thinking diverges.

why would there be variation? that's like saying that a cut of steak has no variation. it's a cut of steak. it exists because of it's cut.

bacon comes from slabs that are about the thickness of how wide bacon is (in the us). you then slice it vertically ...that's how each one comes out the same width across. Because the original cut is a given thickness.

There's variation coz pigs come in different shapes and sizes !
