State of the Game

Your job, just as all of us here in this place, is never done.

Indeed you are correct sir.

As it appears that in the 30 minutes since I was last here, someone has put a new Duracell into Ender, and switched him on, into the worst possible of all modes for us other mentalists here:-

ENDER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, mode...

I do wonder though, if he could be swayed by a musty gusset, or whether his Terminator mode will override all human emotions?

Hasta La Gusset, Ender?

it's not like you'll be able to loot and pick up stuff. no different really than docked ships cause in terms of network traffic. everything else is p2p

the only thing really needing to be sent to fdev is the fact that you exited your ship.
I mean regarding stocks of whatever is in your shops, biodata, whatever else is attached to concourses sort of thing. A lot would be duplicated with current megaship services, but some would be new. The amount of data is not large but its when its multiplied it becomes a headache for a system pushed to its limit.

What is your thing with gussets? did we jump back to the 1950's in here?

and i am right regarding the network activity. The "why would they not include carriers" then argument is probably related to the same argument they made for players having ship interiors. They would be refusing to see the benefit of walking around if you aren't allowed to do things like call for shuttles and having shuttle service.

which they probably wouldn't want to add to carriers

It would be quite cool having a foot based CZ inside a megaship to disable turrets so you could pirate the lot.

pirating another player's carrier from foot incursion? If only fdev cared about the existing piracy mechanic at all... it would still be something that would never happen but at least not laughably so.

or was that just the non-carrier megaships?

I'd just assume such theft you find in surface settlements would be what you find in megaship interiors (for those without a concourse but instead ...a settlement type interior)

no difference would be made between the two except in how you enter and exit the interior instance

it could be made different and interesting. have you hunt for the access door on the surface of the ship. (space walking!) ... have the ship defensive options be to jettison the air and suck you down a hallway and out of a port... floating thru space until you run out of energy. Maybe just utilize a maze of corridors to confuse players so that they tend to fail to make it back out in time after steeling something particularly juicy.

if in an active battle, have random panels exploding nearby and pathways that would normally be open, blocked by debris that must be cut thru ...etc.

but i think we know it's just going to be copy and pasted from surface settlements.

Well, now you're just getting into the realm of fairy tales and unicorns.

Dude, I'm only messing around! I don't know anything about network stuff compared to you, I thought you realized I am only pulling your leg. Regards what you're discussing, I think it would be absolutely amazing if they added this kind of thing with associated gameplay, I really do,I thought it important you know I'm not just totally being a bottom for the sake of it?!

As to whether they add it to carriers, megaships, or both, I simply don't know. Granted I am on the cynical side from experiences with FD, but I hope that whatever they do, they do it well. But also I feel like we have to wait and see too, as there have been times in the past where they have "said by mistake" or have to go back on things. So that is my opinion anyway.

As for the most important topic you said to me - I am not guilty of the gusset scandalising, I blame Leo for that. I just accidentally mentioned it many, many times, as it has been an amusing topic. You have made me wonder though, where do you stand on the gusset front?
