Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Ummm... ok.

So i played the Xeno Threat last night, quite good fun... when it worked. Lots of ships wizzing about, the atmosphere / emershun in gassy asteroid field was excellent, numerous players all co-operating together, etc. Can't say i felt an Elite mission or CG ever having such scope.

Unfortunately SC gotta SC: while the first event worked great, the second attempt had two 30Ks, got a Crime Stat for ??? and had to spend 20 mins working it off, just getting back to watch an idris go boom. Third time not enough players trying to participate, so all i managed was to shoot down a few smaller craft, before the wreck area got overwhelmed.

Overall it's like a lot of my experiences, where the game is great when it all functions as intended, but goes messy when it doesnt. Definitely enjoyabe enuogh to try a few more times (hope it lasts to the weekend) and i'll try to get to level 3 for the suits etc, plus some comparatively easy money.

Oh i saw a video on the money-box glitch too, i need to learn mining, as a few millions might be nice to buy bigger ships ;)

Aye, it's always the case with Xeno and anything else in SC...fine if and when it all works, like you said. I still haven't been up doing Xeno yet...I think that doing the thing more than a few times during PTU kinda killed any of my enthusiasm for it. There's been a few of our guys all teaming up at Jericho every night while I've been wandering around mining anywhere that isn't Microtech and deliberately avoiding it.. I'll make an effort before it finishes I suppose, there's always someone in need of a turret gunner :)

From the refunds sub, someone actually put their money where their mouth was and reported CIG for false advertising

Fed up of CIG and the constant lies, I reported their Gatac Railen ship email as being misleading to consumers to the UK Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) as there is no mention that the ship does not exist and might never exist.
A few weeks later, the ASA confirm the CIG email does go against the Advertising Code of Practice and inform CIG who now have added a disclaimer to all their concept ships for sale via email. Though if you read the disclaimer, you'll see that the wording is still extremely misleading as they claim the ships WILL be playable. C'mon Chris, stop making promises you can't keep!
Disclaimer wording can be found here: https://mailchi.mp/cloudimperiumgames/lastchance-crusadermissile-83121-active
"* Disclaimer: The Crusader Ares (Inferno and Ion), A2 Hercules, Genesis Starliner, are being offered here as a limited vehicle concept pledge. This means that the vehicle is in development but is not yet ready to display in your Hangar or fly in Star Citizen. It will be available as playable content in a later patch. In the future, the vehicle price may increase and Lifetime Insurance or any extras may not be available. If you pledge towards a Crusader Ares (Inferno and Ion), A2 Hercules, Genesis Starliner, you will receive a loaner vehicle for use in Star Citizen until such time as the Crusader Ares (Inferno and Ion), A2 Hercules, Genesis Starliner, is included in-game. This loaner vehicle will be a currently playable vehicle of similar approximate size and/or function to the concept ship pledged. We offer pledge ships to help fund Star Citizen’s development. The funding received from vehicles such as this allows us to include deeper features in the Star Citizen world. These vehicles will be available for in-game credits and/or will be otherwise earnable through play in the final universe. They are not required to start or succeed at the game."

If I had any idea what you just asked...I'd tell you

Along the cable should be printed a manufacturer and code number, and perhaps an explicit rating.

I ask only because it doesn't look like external UV rated drop - and eventually over time it'll crack and you'll end up with a lovely puddle where it first enters the building. Of course, it could be absolutely fine :D Many things have changed since my own days as a cable monkey.

I can practically bet it's the cheapest crap cable they could get away with.... it's now coated with a liberal coating of Ronson weatherseal though, thanks to me, I sprayed all the walls of the old byre with it after the cable and receiver were installed...I redid the pointing on the stonework as it needs sealing for surviving the weather up here, same with the end that goes into the house... since they drilled a hole in the wall. The engineers that installed it also greased the cable ends where it plugs in to the receiver...standard practise up here on the islands. If it's not done, it'll last a week during winter before the connection port is full of salt water from the sea spray :)

All the cargo... time URL.
The first time playing xeno, I didn't understood why the guy was removing all the Zeta-Prolanide I was putting in his cargo. I was the one clearing the wreck and opening the door and, as I was alone with no ship with cargo, I had patiently prepared all the boxes for the next guy showing with a big ship and started sending boxes with less than 2 min timers in his cargo

Big bada boom?

When you don't respect the rules... boom !!!
The green ones have a timer on them, you know how much time you have left.
