just throwing this in here.....
something I wrote up for our group, looking through the issue tracker (collecting the 'most confirmed'/best describing ones) and lurking in this thread.
(almost) all of these I have either experienced myself or someone in my group has.
Had all of those in my bag from yesterday apart from the credits one, which is excellent news for me!

Getting double the credits for sold commodities

....BUT
YO!
pFFFhhh brb.

Annnnnnnnnny issues with whole data downloading thing is under the old belt, leave anything to do around that whole change with me.
Thanks.

I haven't seen much feedback from the community on Support missions (sorry I keep harping on this, but these were my obsession before they were ruined, so that's where my head was LOL). Has anyone seen a change in availability for these mission types? I saw zero when I was in there..

Posting this feedback on behalf of an in-game friend regarding CZs:

Space CZs in Odyssey do spawn ships - I did 3 mediums last night, gave up on the 3rd as weapons damage is affected, noticably, and blowing up 18 ships in a little over an hour was tedious.

You have summed it up perfectly.

It's not a dig at the CMs or Devs (who are doing good work). But there are certainly issues with Frontier as a company.

Yo I just wanna clarify that I wasn't looking to start a huge convo on this because I didn't take it as a dig.
I just wanted to make sure I could catch all of the things I needed to catch in regards to getting the game stuff sorted out, without having to also dig through layers of people's feelings getting hurt by things entirely out of my control in this thread. Thass-all.
Gunna get back to the first bit o7

Regardless of whether ED:O finally runs as it should, one thing is clear:
Sally you are doing a fantastic job. I admire you for your calm and always constructive way. I would like to thank you for that. You are great!

Did I thank you for this!? I should have if I didn't. I'm 55555555000000000000007872 miles an hour right now <3

actually, that credit one is one that we have not tested/confirmed ourselves. (the other one being the space CZ one, which had some mentions here)

But the fact that it's in voting stage (despite only one visible contribution) made me think "ok, someone must have elevated it, so it is most likely really a thing" - so it went in the list.

PS: "confirmed" = ppl talking about it, sharing screenies. Wish more of them would use the issue tracker, why I do these list sometimes.
(But that - and the issue tracker itself - is another discussion)

Really sorry to have to say that, but I wouldn't be that sure about it.

We are looking at a weapon doing roughly 9.2 x 10^18 damage because of some lame integer overflow (?) / floating-point conversion (?) error, an oversight that really shouldn't be happening more often than once in a blue moon maybe (and it literally never should make it into the live release). And yet we have hundreds or even more stupid bugs and performance issues a pretty large number of devs seem to be utterly incapable of fixing in months. Not even to mention the totally ruined weapon damage figures in Horizons, which we are still not 100% sure whether or not they did intentionally.

If this is 'good work' I don't know how bad work would look like.

It's not intentional it was never in the patchnotes but is very weird how specific some of the nerfs were. Surely frontier wouldn't try to sneak in a rebalance unannounced. That would be unkind to their remaining players!

Sally, feathers are not 'a bit ruffled' because the game is not 'glorious' but for many people simply fundamentally broken and not working in any meaningful sense. To make it worse, FD has not been trying to 'make things right in as sensible a way possible'. From the first day in Alpha FD has not been communicating properly with their customers, and that is putting it mildly. It started by pretending performance would be fine in a few weeks, pinky swear. When at launch it became obvious virtually zero improvements were made we were told to 'wait till the end of the month'. By then still virtually no improvements were made.

Fast forward months and here we are: for most who couldn't play it it is still completely disfunctional. Some have experienced some minor improvements, for others it even got worse. Meanwhile it is completely unknown what Update8, which supposedly will containt 'parts' of the 'significant progress', will actually do for people. Or when it is supposed to come. Or what the final performance target even is.

Mind you, this is not unknown information about some product to be launched in the future. EDO has been sold, at full price, with explicit promises, many months ago. The time is long gone for vagueness. At this point FD should communicate what they think performance on min and recommended specs should be, and when they think they can deliver upon that. FD was confident enough to sell this product to people, so they should be confident enough about this too. And if FD cannot confidently say when their commercial product is going to function properly, that should have some obvious follow-up consequences.

This is not aimed at you, please do understand that. I know you are working very hard and are doing a wonderful job. I am also not aiming at individual devs or other employees, who I am sure are also doing everything they can. But in the end we are talking about a large corporation intentionally and knowingly continuing to sell a broken product. And while this is only a computer game, if this ape had feathers they would be very, very ruffled about it. Its not even that I dont enjoy EDO despite it all, but on general principle I feel it is important to hold corporations accountable for what are, undoubtedly, disturbing anti-consumerist actions.

Beyond that, thank you again for your work in trying to improve things. :)

I can't sum it up any better. I'm really at a loss. The last 4 updates have each chipped away performance from my setup. While I can work around some bugs and playability issues and the occasional patch-day-crazy-crap, I can't really get around constant poor performance everywhere but the cockpit. For me the first couple of updates were alright. It had bugs but I could hang in at 60FPS with 0.75X in most all places and that was good enough... not awesome, but good enough. Today I'm down to 0.65X and 45FPS because dropping into the 50's creates stuttering effects that make me nuts. With this update even that limit is breached. Concourses drop into the 20's now and I know from experience the settlements will follow that and worse. In combat play that glitchy jumpy FPS created when falling through 45FPS really makes it... I guess un-fun would be the term.

To me, that's unplayable. So I paid for this expansion, and by the time the performance improvements are done I will not be able to stand playing the vast majority of the additional content in the expansion. Yeah, my feathers are ruffled now. I really see no way this improves for me in the future without some Jesus patch and I know that is unlikely. I have no idea how to address the fact that performance for my system is dropping at every update. I know others are seeing it too but FDev seems unable to address it which seems to suggest my future is bleak for the next update.

All my performance margin is gone now. We're down to the bones, and chewing into them as well.

Sally is doing an awesome job at pulling things into the spotlight to get resolved on the bugs side and I really don't think her contribution can be over-stated. I think it's safe to say while it may be a dumpster fire now, without her assistance this would be a 5 alarm blaze burning the building down.

I've had a long career in the Telecom industry, where critical software has to be spot on or there are huge consequences. It's not so much that there are issues, it's that the reasons for the continuing issues have not been corrected (imho). That is a management issue.

Sally is giving it her all, so that is commendable, I don't envy her task :)
