Seriously lads, all this has been laid out repeatedly, more than once, ad nauseam: Console development has been put on hold until Odyssey is in a fit state to be released on them. Based on what you've been reading from PC players, ask yourselves if you think that's currently the case.

BELIEVE US when we say that you don't want it right now. The wobbly shadows, shaders all over the place, non-mouth moving NPCs, random crashes, awful performance, inventory issues, and all the other bugs that are too many to list.

At the moment, they're just APPROACHING the point of where the game was supposed to be on release four months ago, and are starting to add in the extra bits and bobs they were planning post-launch. We're barely even AT the date the original console launch was set for, Autumn 2021.

Given that "proper Odyssey" on the PC is still a couple of months away (bearing in mind PC folks have already paid for it), and that the plan for console launch was set for several months after that, everyone knew from the announcement in June that it was going to be 2022. I'm not sure how unloading on absolutely every dev post/community manager appearance about it will get some sort of reaction from them, other than garner a reason for hand-wringing.

Pretty sure the plan was to put console on hold to FIX the PC version, not add a load of new stuff that as is always the way will inevitably need fixing delaying console further.
Go through the various update threads. Console players have been demanding a release date, but at the same time PC players are demanding the extra features that were being promised prior to launch. Frontier are between a rock and a hard place, and LEGALLY they're obliged to take care of the ones who've already parted with their money as opposed to those who are wanting to.

Would you want the current version of Odyssey on a last-gen console?

Perhaps frontier should release it on console with a no-refund clause, then all of the console players demanding news could have something to be as happy as those PC players with similar spec hardware as consoles.
Yes, yes I would. It's far from perfect I get that but it's definitely playable because if it wasn't you wouldn't be playing it, even the people with similar specs to console are still playing.

The problem is information policy. I just want a short progress bar to be included at least once a month.

Twin seat SRVs hmmmm nobody is crazy enough to sit in the spare seat in my AspX when I'm out 'delivering' let alone sit next to me while I drive across an alien planet.

Aslo I think that the OP missed an item when listing whats likely to be in update 8

"Megaships for Thargoids" come on FDev.... lets have a thargoid hive ship land in a big populated system (imperial please) and start massacring everyone there......
Go on... ... you know you want to....... :devilish:

Bill

<<would pay good money to see that.... oops missed out "for popcorn" after the bit "good money" :D

But... that's not what indefinitely means.

The unfortunate situation for console players is that I don't think there'll be any news until.... well, there's any news. At the moment console development is temporarily shelved, and they'll say something when its back on again.

Can I take it from your username that you play in VR? I've heard that is pretty epic. I'm assuming you weren't keen when VR support was dropped from Odyssey? Imagine if they said they were working on VR support but had no dates for it and then started announcing other stuff whilst giving no more news on the VR support timelines. Wouldn't you be just a a little but miffed?
Not at all. I'm a tad annoyed that VR development isn't happening at all, but I can live with that. But even if they said it would happen further down the line, I certainly wouldn't expect them to stop developing other areas of the game.

:D

But I'm just tired of FD continually kicking the can down the road. They seem to be able to do magic up PvE gameplay for anything, insert new engineers, put shopping malls on megaships......but when it comes to Powerplay its suddenly absolute silence, yet again. For example, why can't Power leaders have 3D avatars? If you can churn out on foot engineers what holding you back?

How many years and how much feedback do you need before on a roadmap Powerplay gets some definite direction or even a mention?

At this rate its a race between Star Citizen and Powerplay as to who will get finished first.

Well, you know my opinion on this i think. FD either need to go all in on a revamp or just ditch it. I'm tired of half-bottomed measures with the game. I'm not expecting (or even wanting) Star Citizen levels of detailization to the point that it takes years to get anything done. Hell, FD aren't exactly fast at making stuff anyway. But you know, either commit or don't bother... although based on feedback, in relation to Powerplay, its a case of don't bother.

No Fleet Carrier interior was a pretty big let down for me with Odyssey. Thanks for making this right Frontier.

A humble wishlist for the future:
-Ability to go Prone w/ a weapon
-Ability to lean (Railings, tables, Bar, fences)
-Ability to Sit (Stations, benches, low rocks)
-EVA
-Fleet Carrier Owner unique radio acknowledgment
-Personal Quarters (Fleet Carrier, Settlment base, Station)
-Piecemeal Suit/Ship Cosmetic purchases

Honestly at this point I'm okay with Horizons still, but all games need additional gameplay to keep their players engaged. There's not going to be anymore development on Horizons, so what we have is what we get. At some point we'll lose interest.
And us losing interest and moving on is behind closed doors probably what they want, not enough console players equates to not enough demand for an Odyssey release. Frontier are famous for deceiving their PC player base why would us console players be worthy of any truth or honesty what so ever......Here come the white knights

Considering only 0.1 percent of star systems have been visited, I doubt this very much.
This is true, I mean there are still systems out there that we're discovering, so first footfall will very much be an option. The only issue will be that it may be hard to get first footfall in the bubble.
