State of the Game

It just boggles my mind how people have ignored the disappearing performance improvements of Update 8, to be thrilled by shiny new things and to dive into infighting between console and PC players. I hate to admit it, but the "Hey! a squirrel!" strategy seems to be working.
Well, they more-or-less said on the stream "we reduced the data download times to distract you after we made all the data illegal", then they throw us the long rumoured SRV to distract from the lack of performance upgrades. I guess we need to hope Patch 8 goes badly - then we'll finally get the Panther Clipper :)

The Console players are bringing the criticism on themselves... Only yesterday Sally was telling poster, again, that the console release follows the successful optimisation of the PC version...

The rest of the shiny stuff certainly does seem to have been a suitable distraction for most... Not that I don't like the stuff that was likely supposed to be included 'at launch' being woven into the fixes, at least the 'finished' product should be the one that undergoes conversion for console, hopefully with a suitable break between final PC release and console porting, just to get rid of most of the major bugs.

i hope they release the panther clipper just to shut all the stupid players up who really want it despite its only function being to further break the game's economic balance.

the panther clipper is a poor option for a new ship anyway you slice it unless it exists in name only and not related at all to it's historic attributes.

a better option would be to allow players to craft and build their own dredgers. Dredgers are already canonically DIY builds. They could offer an entire set of new gameplay loops from creating and customizing them to using them post-battles to acquire materials and items to sustain the ship and add to it. internal customizations could be made, they could be made destructable if they're made non-persistent. So many options and interesting purposes they could be applied to that fleet carriers dont nor any normal ships are able to. Plus, they can be factories to build normal ships and such when the thargoids destroy the bubble(s). The possibilities are nearly endless.

The panther clipper is a useless parasite to the existing game.

I can see I went way off topic, so by way of apology I offer this cat.

Wouldn't be the first time madam!

A twatch?

I saw him live in the 80's.*

* in a theatre or a holiday camp or something - not at a pool party.

Embarrassingly, me too, but at a stand-up show when I was too young to get any of the jokes, or know who he really was. I have an autograph too from then, but he might as well have just drawn a wang on a piece of paper as that would have amused young me far more!

Wait a bell just clicked in my head.

You have Ender in there? Ugh...

Pretty much what I saw too - I seem to remember the rolly pollys in support.
Not quite Hendrix at the isle of wight :D
