That SRV is great news. Any plans for a motorcycle one in a far of future?
How can you say that?
U7 managed to break a lot of things on consoles too... you cannot break stuff if you dont work stuff...
You're exactly right, they're mad because they want to play it, but put us on the back burner long enough and you'll get nothing but frustration, and eventually, people will be disinterested. Then you could lose a portion of your player base. All? No. And they'll likely make it up eventually. But sooner or later, those of us that want to play their game and can't, will give up.I'm sorry but reality is reality and they're not lulling anyone along. They have said very clearly that development on the console version is on the backburner until the PC version is in an acceptable state when many companies wouldn't have even been that honest. They will let us know when they believe it's satisfactory and development continues. That's about as straightforward as it gets.
I also challenge that they're going to lose any mentionable portion of the console playerbase. The reason people are mad is because you want to play it. Let's all stop acting like it's some moralistic grand stand against the Big Bad Company and keep it real; you want to play Odyssey and you want to play it way sooner than later. I don't believe that pushing it back several months to get it in a playable state is going to cause anyone to just lose the desire to play it. Way more people will buy it than won't.
Thanks a lot for listening and for continuing working on exciting features. This pathway is what we need to make Odyssey the great expansion it was designed to beWe hope that this update has given you plenty to be excited about as bring new and exciting experiences to the Elite galaxy. What we’ve shared today is just a snapshot of what we’re working on and more details will come on all of the above in future monthly development updates and across our other channels!
Thank you as always for your continued feedback and support.

Got to love it when your FC opens fire on you for no apparent reason! If you fine folks give me Carrier Interiors but don't fix it so my flight control person recognizes me as the owner, I will be rather displeased. Just sayin'

"We do not want to rush into confirming any dates or changes this has on our console release, as we must remain fully focused on the core Elite experience. Only when we feel that the foundation of the PC release is solid, will we be able to re-lay our console roadmap on top." - D. Braben - July 2021
Perception is everything. That’s why they released this pile of dross in the first place. Companies literally live and die by their reputation and how they are perceived. So what you're saying is you actually do understand that there are different groups working on different things (which is standard in softdev), and you understand that getting new content added to Odyssey isn't actually impeding the optimization and bugfixing process because, again, different teams, but... the optics are more important to you?
That's rather nonsensical, don't you think? Perception is not reality, no matter how much you want it to be.
You do also realize that it's more likely than not that when Odyssey finally does come to console you will be getting the most current build available at the time and thus will have all this "new" content available to you all at once, right? This content isn't exclusive to PC in any way; you're getting it eventually too. This is new content that everyone playing Odyssey will have access to.
The way I see it you'll be getting a much more complete version of Odyssey right out of the gate than we did and that's not something to be scoffed at.
If only there was an established way to test and ensure such foundational stability before selling your product to the masses. I guess it's ok to rush when it helps your financial numbers in the short term... but not if it gives realistic expectations for investors / customers to make decisions that could be detrimental to short term financial numbers.
Got it.
Best statementEDO means Odyssey, I assume. In which case it remains an accurate statement, regardless of the recent update to Horizons (EDH): Console development of Odyssey is on hold indefinitely until the PC release is 'solid'.

Maybe Odyssey is considered stable once it's got emotes and cowboy hats? Worked for Rockstar.

2. Deliver platform parity
I have this weird idea, seeing they've pretty much taken the engine to it's limits, with Odyssey, that in the background, they're also making a new engine and that ED, when final, will be all-in and on the new engine. All this stuff builds towards it...but thats a hope and a hunch, nothing concrete.
Another tweak is needed for carriers.
The crew need to acknowledge we ho their CMDR is and not just treat them as another generic pilot. I'm your boss and I own this rig you're on dammit!

I better be able to on the spot fire any npc workers on my carrier when I can see them face to face.
And so help me Danny Devito if I see a single one of them sleeping on the job I'll be selling the carrier to Ender.
