🍁Update 1.7 and North America Animal Pack Out Now!🍁

For me its definitely the path barriers. Just saw the first tutorials on youtube. It helps to make your zoo so much cleaner and building gets easier when you dont need to worry about guests running through your scenery/buildings anymore.

When i saw these fences first i was a bit afraid, but you can hide them beyone the ground so everything is fine.

Love that new feature.
Care to link, please?
I usually avoid building on a path, so I usually don't have the problem of guests running through scebnery, but maybe a tutorial would give me new ideas. :)

I think they mentioned it multiple times but if i remember correctly that has to do with your steam save settings in the steam app.
That is what I thought would fix it too but I tried both synching with steam cloud and without and it still resets, for some reason the file that contains the favorites checks doesnt work as intended, I talked to someone from support once early last year and they said they know about it not working but so far I havent seen a fix so they must still not be able to get it working. Strange thing is default game items it remembers but steam blueprints it gets messed up.

I find that food from an enrichment feeder may tumble into a water feature in the habitat. Then my animals can't (or won't) go in the water to eat it. So the animals get hungry but the keeper thinks there's enough food, not knowing that the food is inaccessible. So the keeper refuses to bring new food.

What I do is remove the water, adjusting the terrain as needed until the animals can climb down the bank and eat the food. That seems to reset the feeding cycle where the keepers now recognize that there isn't any food left in the habitat, so they bring more.

After dealing with this issue multiple times, I now place enrichment feeders well away from water features!
For me its an issue with the white capuchin monkeys, they have forester feeders but the keeper also throws food on the ground still, and that is when the problem arrives they dont eat that food so it stays there and they go hungry because the keeper wont feed them as there is still food but they dont eat that, I have to enable the spoil food option again for it to spoil but then i akso have to turn on defecate or the keeper wont clean.

I especially love this. Wow and this update looks gorgeous and this is my favorite

But this just a bit of a shame that the tigers don't have the required waters. Well done to the whole team for listening to us because you are the best team in the world.

😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

I AM SO EXCITED - thank you everyone for all the excitement in the run-up to this, I can't wait to see what you all do with this Pack 💚💚💚
So many things from the big meta-suggestions list in this update. I'm very impressed at how well the team continues to listen to feedback and communicates it with the developer team. I can't wait to dive into the game and start messing with some of these things :D

Totally love this update and pack, the barriers are awesome to finally have, no more guests walking through my fountains and lampposts. The animal pack is awesome too. I love the beavers. The Arctic Fox is super cute.

For the next DLC I really hope we can get some birds and aviaries and maybe butterflies so I can build as we call it in The Netherlands a Vlinder Tuin or in english it would be a butterfly garden.

There's one additional thing I wanted to mention: I've already started building a habitat for the moose and it's so cool how easy-going they are in terms of traversable area! I was a bit worried because large animals in Planet Zoo tend to have trouble navigating through bigger openings, but the moose can easily fit through almost everything and traverse even rocks and so on without any issues. I think they, along with the immensely cute arctic foxes (and, let's be honest, pretty much all the other animals anyway), will be my favorites in this pack.

  • The following new toy enrichment items are included with the Planet Zoo: North America Pack:
    • Beaver Pool, available for:
      • North American Beaver, with new animations progressing the state of the enrichment with each interaction
      • African Elephant (juvenile only), with the Water Pool enrichment animations
      • Dingo, with the Water Pool enrichment animations
      • Dhole, with the Water Pool enrichment animations
      • Indian Elephant (juvenile only), with the Water Pool enrichment animations
      • Sun Bear, with the Water Pool enrichment animations
  • The following new food enrichment items are included with the Planet Zoo: North America Pack:
    • Skittle Feeder
      • Arctic Fox
      • African Wild Dog
      • Dhole
      • Fennec Fox
    • Piñata Pronghorn
      • Arctic Fox
      • Cougar
      • African Wild Dog
      • Arctic Wolf
      • Bengal Tiger
      • Cheetah
      • Clouded Leopard
      • Dhole
      • Dingo
      • Jaguar
      • Siberian Tiger
      • Snow Leopard
      • Spotted Hyena
      • Timber Wolf
      • West African Lion
    • Melon Feeder, available for:
      • Black-tailed Prairie Dog
      • Moose
      • North American Beaver
      • Southern White Rhinoceros
      • Indian Rhinoceros
      • Reindeer
      • Hippopotamus
      • Pygmy Hippo

I am sooooo glad that lots of different species from basegame and other packs can use the new enrichment items.
But at the same time, it highlights even more that the regular water pool is a wonderful item but currently wasted. It should be almost generic, useable by about half of the roster species. Specially weird that the dingo, dhole and sun bear can use it, but not the rest of wolves and bears 🤷‍♂️

New Content - Free Update 1.7

  • NEW - Animals
The following new food enrichment item is included in the free Update 1.7:
    • Underwater Herbivore Feeder, available for:
      • North American Beaver

Why adding in the free update a feeder for a DLC animal? Makes you wonder... Available in future updates for hippos and/or other animals?

  • Animals
    • Updated the conservation status of the following animals:
      • Komodo Dragon (VU to EN)

Saddest update, just like the African elephant in previous one... But it is a nice detail that Frontier pays attention to IUCN list updates!

Hi @Eltanin Casciani,
great update overall! I am looking forward to try everything out.

Actually, I’ve already prepared a hight map in advance and successfully imported it in Planet Zoo.
One thing I’ve realized while doing so: the final PZ terrain displayed quite obvious terrain stairs due to the limited color gradient of my used 8 bit picture.

Hence my question: does PZ’s texture importer support 16 bit or even 32 bit TIFs?
This would definitely make the generated terrains a bit smoother.

I'm so excited for all of this! Most of these changes (or at least the ones most important to me) we've had some sort of inkling would be coming, but walkthrough kangaroos in particular got an audible "yes!" out of me.
