State of the Game

Games are toys.
I think its people taking their hobbys very seriously.
Adult lego fans can be just as mental about their toys - no doubt something mirrored in all groups about toys.

Me after I criticised Benny from the lego movie on the classic space group:

I agree with all your points.
It's still silly and ridiculous how games are treated like serious business. The games themselves I mean.
Sometimes I watch movies and series, and (with exceptions) those are generally not taken as serious as games. I also do origami from time to time. Never heard someone raging about the quality of the paper or talk crap in a YouTube tutorial. That's what I mean.

optional things being irrationally important to people is as old as humanity and will never go away. Games are not special in that regard. You might as well be making statements about how we treat/value religions.

games are toys to some, and are life to others. Just as religions are stupid stories to some, and enough to goto war over for others. In comparison, impotent rage about a video game is one of the least ways a human can be irrationally passionate about something that isn't real.

counter-examples - go, chess, snooker - all quite serious games - even online.

are cinnabuns a thing over there in uk land? is it talked about like some shameful drug you only admit to partaking in if other people have admitted as well - like it is over here?

Boy, they really are pushing the Azimuth Saga like a street corner dealer lately aren't they.
Did anyone watch the livestream last night? Anything of note?
Not really, basically just discussion of what's in the game already. Definitely an excercise in poker face for the CMs.
Well a certain Mr Garrido implied that Salvation may not be male. So that's an important development I guess.
Because Salvation is an AI probably. The "man of science" part means Zac Nemo (as in 'nobody') is housing the glowly Windows Update in his head.
It was rather conspicuous that AI was mentioned several times, almost continually even. And yet no mention of Jacques being MIA...

But it's hard to tell just how many of the questions/comments, on the part of the CMs, was misdirection vs., not so subtle, hints.

Looking forward to part II in the next few weeks...
