Kudos to all the Commanders I met on this CZ.
Finally, seems like the Executioner is more of a mid-range rifle than a real sniper one.

People like to jump high a lot... giving a better target, moving in a more predictable way and without any cover, for a longer time :)

ofc, it's a designated marksman rifle :)

So well said my friend. Jumping is dangerous for all the reasons you mentioned.
But also, while you're air-born, you still can feint your movement with small jetpack bursts 😈

Nice vid matey!

At least some one else than me still daring to type PvP in this forum
Thanks, much appreciated :) Honestly it was a bit less fun than last time for the Kumos, this time we were only 4x outnumbered

I saw all your last vids too, love them, took a lot of inspiration from it 🙏

Thanks! Really appreciated (y) I'd have a better PC to play foot CZs... it would be nice to try mix some foot/aerial PvP combat (well, I don't even dare to start the grind for the suit/guns engineering at the moment, as I'm just too lazy as well :D ).

So far I've only used foot stuff to make some intros or so... :( but I believe there's some potential.

Doing a foot/aerial video would be awesome !! The ships look gorgeous to me in Odyssey's planets atmosphere. The weapon FXs too. And this "sphere of combat" thing got to be something fun. Maybe we can do a cross-over one of this day. 😉

I still think that Odyssey is not really well optimized yet on the perf side. Personally, on my 1080ti I must keep the game in 1080p / Mid Quality to get a reliable framerate.

My advices for the on-foot mats grind : Start by finding a "pre-made Grade 3" gear from a Pioneer Supplies. Then focus on harvesting the "Data", the other types (Assets and Goods) are relatively easy to obtain (since you can trade them with other Commanders). My favourite way to go is to find a good Settlement (Military, High Tech, ...), shut the alarms, massacre everyone and loot everything. Then repeat. "Impact Site Lv2" (crashed Nav Beacon) and "Irregular Markers Lv2" (with Sentry carcass Data-port) are good to. Always here to help in-game if one day you need ;)

Thanks for the advice! Yep I have some G3 stuff purchased at the Pioneer shops! What wasted the most my hopes to have an easy grind was the need of unlock more engineers and the balance between the invested time into it and the potential gameplay I can obtain (as I do play the most for PvP) didn't result positive. But... since I've seen more and more involvement in open play ground CZs, may be now it's something worthwile to do.

Sadly, yes, you're right, the on-foot grind is surprisingly tough. I really understand what you mean about the cost-return side of it.

But one thing to keep in mind, you don't need to unlock Engineers to upgrade to Grade 5 (you can do it from any Pioneer) ! It's only for the "Modifications" and honestly they're much less important.

My epic account is exactly in the same state. Yet, i got almost 60 millions bonds in the last CG, almost by doing only onfoot high cz.
It's not easy to go against those 5 chevron guys in g3 store equipment, but it's total fun

Now, if you talk about pvp - unfortunately, a fully g5 upgraded and modded opponent can be quite though

i agree with this

but not with this.
a properly modded suit and weapon sets can be nasty.
just imagine your executioner had increased magazine (5 shots instead of 3), fast reload (25% faster reload time) or stowed reloading (*), faster handling and hip fire accuracy

*(in which case you can simply play with 2x identically modded Executioners, swapping weapons instead of reloading or simply swapping to a tormentor for those close range kills)

side note: a tormentor and 2x L6 rocket launchers is pure madness 😂

60 millions is pretty impressive, I made about 50 millions but with my G5, congrats !

But yes, G5 vs G3 is totally OP. After 4 days of CZ I calculated that it usually takes three Commanders [G3] to kill one single Commander [G5] 😬

Oh yes, yes, I didn't mean that Modifications were not good. You're totally right, against a "same gears-level / same skill" Commander, those mods will make the difference ! (like you said, the right ones). But good skill compensates better a lack of mod than a lack of grade, I feel.

I see a lot of them are trying the L-6 against you, which of course they're not having much luck if you also jump.

This makes me wonder whether the laser/kinetic combo might be more effective against CMDRs than the high-damage, low-ROF weapons if they're going to be spending their time gently gliding about in the air.

Or just going nuts with the intimidator and to hell with aiming.

Very good analysis. It's true that for the last 2 CGs most of CMDRs used L-6 as their main weapon. 👍

So the first thing I learnt was to avoid rockets by "flying". Actually, I was already used to it from playing tons of Overwatch (they have Phara, she flies and shoots rockets, check her out).

My feeling is that most of those CMDRs go L-6 because it's OP to mass-kill NPCs. But a lot of them regret it when they finally face a very agile human.

Against an Intimidator shotgun + good movement, I think L-6 is rubbish, much too slow fire rate. Also, I bet that in the futur they will nerf the L-6 while buff the Executioner (especially the L-6 going through Shield Projector stupidity).

To your main point, I would say both [Laser + Kinetic] or [Plasma Intimidator and Exec] are equally effective against flying targets. It's more of their gameplay / strategy that differs.

One last thing I think people don't realize yet with the CZ strategy : plasma weapons allow you to stay stealth while hunting the enemy CMDRs. In the opposite, the L-6 transforms you instantly into the most visible target of the map 🤡

Against NPCs, I did try a twin-L6 build and it's certainly fun and good if you can spawncamp a squad right as they drop off the ship, or hit them while they're all clustered around a control point, but the intimidator's ability to punch through shields and do some damage to the meat underneath makes it a way more useful generalist weapon once they're all spread out - not to mention the superior fire rate and reloading time.

But yes, agility is a huge thing. Plasma is god in pve because NPCs tend to stop and stand still, moving targets are a totally different matter.

We both agree, better than the L-6, Exec, Laser and Kinetic is the god weapon called Intimidator 😈. It's just good at everything 🖤

Btw, just in case you're interested, I made another vid with the Intimidator last month. I was still a noob with it (did'nt even know you could aim-down with it 😓) and the video edit is rough. But it shows how good this rifle is in 1v1.
