Plus Singapore is far, far more strict at enforcement. They tell you what to do and you do it.
yeah, but that is an attitude people in Australia have as well - they mainly follow the advice of the government, couldn't say that there is much of an enforcement required, but we surely have higher penalties, if orders aren't followed (like for example during social distancing in tassie - 1000 dollars first offense standing too near to each other, 2nd offense 16800 dollars, 3rd offense taken into custody) - I think that is a matter of those quite good briefings the public gets about what is done and planned by the government, so people are more likely to comply. Afaik there were just 97 offenses against social distancing and travel restrictions in Tassie in April/May last year - since then we are covid-free. So is our government doing a great job? - certainly, they take good care of us and we follow their orders, simple as that.
you see, this attitude that governmental orders would be a matter of interpretation and you could arbitrarily decide to follow or ignore them, is the really weird attitude, not that rules are enforced, that is how it should be - a community just works, if nearly all follow the rules - this is not an individual choice, if you break the law, that's criminal.
