What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Yesterday, after 3 months I started again with my big zoo project (after update 1.6 my zoo file wouldn't launch anymore but now with update 1.7 it works again!)
I continued working on my European section which is almost finished now.
I mainly focussed on the Scandinavian part where I build habitats for Reindeer, Wolverines, Golden Eagles and Artic Foxes.
The plan for this part of my map is that my European part slowly goes over into the arctic region and that will eventually lead into the polar dome which will house Polar Bears & Penguïns as well as Beluga whales and Walrus.
The Polar Dome (on which I also started construction today) will be crossroads section into 3 different part of the zoo, the European part, the North American part and the Coastal part.
Around the Polar Dome there will also be habitats for Musk Ox, Arctic Wolves and Dall Sheep.

I started a brand new zoo that's North America

Here is the sea lion enclosure and I try to make a slide

Wow, a white rattler. I've never seen albino small exhibit animals (besides other people's photos). Very cool

As a non talented builder I truly question why I'm trying certain things. But I'm trying. I still am not sure why I'm trying this rather than just use a good blueprint, but maybe I'll get it right this time. (this is in my construction sandbox zoo, no animals in it or anything just a place for me to try new things)

I do the same. I don't like to use other players' blueprints for whatever reason, so I make a construction zoo (I call it Experiment Zoo, where I try out new techniques), and I practice my building/terraforming skills there

I definitely don't mind using others blueprints but I do want to try to expand my own abilities. Sometimes I'll load a blueprint and reverse engineer it to see how it's done. Domes have been particularly challenging for me even though I can tell what the original builder did, it somehow escapes my abilities. Gonna try it til I get it right though!

You want some domes? I have 1 I built a while back. We'll, it's a half dome and then extenders. It uses the New World theme so that it's versatile. I can upload it, if you'd like (I told myself: "Build more dome designs for variety". Never did😅. They are a bit tedious to build)

Today, I started a camel habitat. It's a work in progress, so please ignore the plaster box that's supposed to be a backstage-shelter one day :D
I'm gonna put more rocks on the back wall, some rocks inside of the habitat, a bunch of tiny rocks and plants into the planter in front of the habitat, and I absolutely need a fence to keep guests from jumping into the camel-pool.. so uh, a few more hours to go I guess? :ROFLMAO:

I wish you lots of Luck with that. Domes can be so difficult. I do have 2 Domes in my current Main Zoo but I think, I would need a Eternity to figure out how to do it properly when I decide to build one again

I gave up on domes long ago. Part of the difficulty for me is that I find it hard to build 'indoors' if the building is already made, and you can't really build a good dome around something else. If I'm building a tropical house for example I prefer to build all the habitats first, and then put the building around it like a shell.

I started my new North America Section in my current Franchise zoo yesterday. I created a cabin at the entrance to serve as a place for an information booth and bathrooms, plus hide the utilities, and other back stage items behind. I’m not 100% in love with the path, but it was the best I could get it after a lot of manipulation.

That looks awesome! good job.

I was really productive yesterday evening and today morning and added two more habitats to my Arctic section, one for reindeers and the other one for Arctic wolves. Still WIP but I already really like the way it goes.
My polar bear and dall sheep habitats are still not finished but for some reason I always tend to move on to another habitat before finishing one. That's why my zoo basically consists of a lot of unfinished habitats. But I think that's my style of playing the game. When I feel motivated I'll eventually finish these habitats and maybe this helps that the themed areas are really built in the same style.

WIP Arctic wolf habitat (yes, another Hagenbeck's style panorama habitat because you can never have enough of them)

Then it suddenly started snowing. I want to share this shot as well, it looks so beautiful in my opinion.

That looks very organic. The last one is pretty great.
I know how you feel about having to many projects and then not finishing them completely.

I have managed to put in some hours despite work and family time, but today I managed to put significant time in the game, even more so after my toddler´s bedtime. So I think my initial start that I posted earlier went pretty alright as an entry zone. I have now put in 2 exhibits and 3 habitats, none of them completed, but some just need various information, scenary etc now.

I might want to add, that this is a newly started Franchise Zoo and it is supposed (not that I am any good at it) to be kinda a trail track zoo, with different themes in each direction.
Below in spoiler, I will show two of my tree habitats. I also made plenty of new buildings, might showcase them another day, when the final touch is on them.

First up my Beaver habitat. I tried to make it taiga like and with a little dam and a tree that had fallen into the water. It still lacks some stuff outside the habitat.

Bison/Prairie dogs habitat. Might have overdone it abit.. it is a huge habitat and I just wanted a feel like this was some big wild habitat with a large group of bisons (I lack more of them) it is not complete at all, but the basics are in.

Hopefully with some of the extra time I have atm and with a toddler that absolutely love to watch and even try Planet Zoo, I might get to put in a good amount of hours the next few days despite work, family and such. I promised to tell you all, that my toddler likes the Beaver´s the most! they are also awesome. I love seeing all the great stuff here in this section of the forum, thank you all for sharing it, sometimes it movtivates and/or inspirations. Have a good day all.

Just a teaser for my (hopeful) entry for the contest. I was looking for what to do to represent Galveston; I considered Murdoch's souvenir shop, Hotel Galvez (where my parents got married) and La King's Confectionary (an vintage-style candy and ice cream and coffee shop).

But then my brother suggested Moody Gardens, which is 3 pyramids: 1 is an aquarium, another is like a museum (never been to that one), and the 3rd is a jungle.

Anyways: here's the teaser. Ignore the disgusting cube-shaped lake in the background:

😍 That's absolutely awesome. I definitely need to search for Pictures of the real Place

Yesterday I built two habitats in two of my franchises for cougars. One was tropical for my Puerto Rican zoo and has a little banana farm in it to show how monoculture farms are killing tropical rainforests. And the general deforestation that has happened in a lot of Puerto Rico. The other one is a rocky desert habitat for my Mexican Baja California zoo. I’m torn on if I should build a temperate habitat to showcase the Florida Panther or another desert/ semi arid one because they’re our only desert cat (besides cheetah) and I love building desert NA habitats, in my flagship Florida zoo. I’m definitely building a taiga habitat for them in my Northern California zoo. I love the versatility they bring. I also yesterday built a large dhole “theater” habitat in my Florida zoo’s India section

I haven’t been able to play since before SEA so it’s been fun to jump back in and use all the new animals again in my franchises

Here's 1 out of 116 "Who Knew?!" fun facts boards for all the animals. I only have done the alligator:View attachment 267855

For reference, in case y'all wanna use it and/or make y'alls own:
The images on the board I got are converted to the Femme art style (on Prisma).
The font is Gulfs Display.

Didn't know that white Alligators are so common. I thought they would be way rarer.
Aren't they also freezing in Body's of Water in colder Areas while only the Tip of the Snout is sticking out? (not sure if that's really true. I might've learned it from a "scientific" TV Show which has proven that their Informations aren't trustworthy)
