We are often accused of being overly optimistic. Whilst I generally am a glass half full kind of guy anyway I do feel that "unrealistically optimistic" is unfair. For example with regard to the Odyssey launch...
At no point... And I really mean this... At no point did I think to myself over the last few months "well that's this game dead and buried, frontier won't fix that, they'll just shut it down and make something else". That's a preposterous notion and I'm genuinely surprised anyone would believe otherwise.
With the video we made yesterday (linked above by OP Steve) we just reported what frontier said and did and sprinkled a little genuine, experienced based, opinion into the mix on what we see and feel from observing the growth of the game over the last 8 years and (importantly) staring closely at frontier and paying very close attention to their many comings and goings and noises.
It's all subjective obviously... But we don't consider ourselves to be dogmatically positive about elite regardless of where it goes, we do however think of ourselves as realistists and we try not to be overly reactionary and instead inject a bit of thought into what we spout publicly.
I appreciate we're not everyone's cup of tea. And that's ok. Either way both of us genuinely adore Elite, warts and all. We'll carry on reporting the facts as we see them, good or bad for whomever wants to listen
