Is it me or are planetary POI's just so badly implemented?

You can rise above their slanderous disposition. Lead by example!
Bah. "Turn the other cheek" is so overrated.

Hi OP! Yes, POI descriptions are missing for some POI's.

Most are fine - your screenshot correctly showed things like 'Minor Wreckage' and 'Artificial Structure' for example. But 'Stack' is most likely a placeholder text/string that was never properly implemented.

This happens elsewhere too (e.g. there are missing strings in popup messages when scanning lifeforms in Notable Stellar Phenomenon).

There's not much you can do except raise it as a bug on the Issue Tracker and hope that it gets fixed one day. Just don't hold your breath.

PS - as you have already witnessed, there are several 'haters' on this forum who delight in winding up other people because they are bored with the game and have nowhere else to turn to. Report them and add them to your ignore list for a more pleasant forum experience.

It's annoying POI aren't numbered, and that you can't create custom waypoints and share them. The current system is sufficient, but barely so.
The missing numbering on all the Odyssey planetary POIs is probably the most obvious problem - and it shouldn't be that difficult to fix. It's already done for Horizons POIs like the Geographic Anomaly or Biological Anomaly resource spots.

On a planet with...say 4 wrecks. They're all named identically in the Nav Panel. It's impossible to tell which one(s) you've already been to. Easier to just say screw it and go to the next planet.

It would help if the description gave a clue but I'm not going to hold my breath. Previous bugs I've raised haven't even been looked at.

If you think I'm offended then you credit yourself with more impact than you have. I just chalked you up as background noise who didn't have anything better to do and who didn't understand the point I was making.
Lol at your ego!
I'm actually inclined to believe Bottom Hat wasn't being a jerk in his post earlier about a big blunder. Perhaps it's time to

It is an installation (an INRA base), if my memory serves me, probably the one where a thargoid was held while developing the mycoid virus... I think it was killed by it... Stack is on a body in the Jameson crash site system.
Oh yea - I forgot about that!

See https://canonn.science/codex/stack/?highlight=stack

Not the most descriptive of settlement names, I agree - but self-discovery is part of the game's tradition. 😊

I only visited it once about 3 years ago, I may take a look at it in Odyssey when I get back to the bubble. If it is like the majority of Horizons installations it is likely to be in a different location in Odyssey, so comparing the site from both versions may be an exercise in patience.
