State of the Game

I have a huge issue with both the easy peeler and the sweetclem.
These frankenfruits have displaced the true king of all citrus, the tangerine, so it's now almost extinct (at least in my local sainsburys).

I agree, partly with this, but as I've posted previously, I'm not sure the 'Orange family' need Tangeries and Satsumas. I'm far more in favour of a merger between the two companies and for them to just make one. Tansumas or Sangerines.

If the tangerine is evolved in to a Tansuma, what will grandads / Ratty claim they got for Christmas when they were little? Us pesky kids won't have a reference point.

I'd be happy to have the new frankentanga's as long as the tangerine in a stringy bag was was not displaced.

I'm sure you understand, someone with such a pro level fridge freezer must know a thing or two about chilled citrus fruit (y)

Whilst I appreciate the ease of peeling these lesser fruits, there is nothing nicer than a ripe and juicy orange imho, even if you do need a shower and mop after peeling and eating.

Perhaps connected to my affection for the orange is that when growing up it was the family tradition to have one at the toe of your Christmas stocking.
