What other games are we all playing?

Then likely BG2.
Only played Shadow of Amn. It was post BG era. Maybe one of the Obsidian games. I was missing some ore to adbance the story and might have been a fortress upgrade after which a battle was supposed to occur but after visiting each map I was aware I just couldnt be bothered anymore to look again and I never finished it.

Might and Magic brand is ancient RPG which used 1st person. Arcomage is famous minigame. One of the M&M ganes had castle for player too. It was my first one. Evthing was fine. I slayed enemies picked berries and enjoyed arcomage at tavern.

Then came a story twist and we went to space against aliens. And I finishes the game firing alien blaster from door and wall soft cover.

Fantasy rpg was kinda ruined for me after this bullmick.

And that's why I havent played Kingmaker or Pillock of Eternity.

Might and Magic?

Sounds more like Wizardry.

Way too old. There was a time when I just wouldnt understand the English.
I was helpful boy tho and offered my older friend help with the homework. I would only need to crack the translation code so if A becomes E and B becomes M and I'd be set.
Ahh, childhood days...

I didnt mean no judgement. Just couldnt resist. I played Dragon Age games. Mainly because of the Mabari interactions. But the cliffhanger endings - it just isnt for me.
Then the last fantasy RPG was DoS2 - which I liked but never finished because it just is too long. I was half way through when I was yay now things start rolling and then found out is just the middle of the game and I was at it over a month already.

I never finished a Stellaris match either - yet I think it is an exceptional space game. End game just isnt so hot. Neither is in Total War but I easily can count thousands of hours in that franchise.

I always love the beginning, exploring the nearby systems, and then sometime midgame I play something else or start new.

But to be fair, I did finish a game or five in the beginning. Complexity nowadays is just too high imho.
Too many options, for an old Master of Orion fan

Strangely low key story games can fasconate me sometimes. And that is often just the voice actor.
Kerillian im Vermintide 2 e.g. I mean they are all kinda great Or the protags in The Long Dark. Funny - the story mode is kinda bad I think. But the 'Shepard' voice actors just kick it forward in survival mode.

I only played one of the Might and Magic games and it was really good until near the end when you meet goblins on the crashed spaceship carrying lasers.

I know, i know, its part of the series' lore, but it really is jarring going from high fantasy to laser wielding goblins.

Not like D&D would ever do that, no sirreeee...... cough Spelljammer

Total War (especially the Medieval games) have been a long favourite of mine.

Anyone remember the Channel 4(?) series where they had people playing deciding on battle strategies using Shogun? Back in the 90s?

If you like layout and design, then you might just love Space Engineers... I know you think you won't, but you never know, it might just hook you! Black Friday sales are only a few weeks away :D

Granted, you won't be building any sleek Imperial ships like a Cutter in SE, but if you like the aesthetics and world of The Expanse, SE is perfect!

I couldn't resist. Season 6 info above. My better half and I are anxiously awaiting.
I wish a game came out based on the Expanse era (~2350+). I hope they would estimate the tech advancements of the time fairly accurately, which would make our solar system the playground. I think it would be very cool if done correctly. A pipe dream it is.
Have a nice day

Spelljammer is only behind Dark Sun in the all-time best (A)D&D settings. So behave or the monocled space hippos will be coming for you.

Yeah, it was pretty good, and Dark Sun. Planescape is one of my favourites. Newhon is a classic. Well, basically anything is better than Forgotten Realms.

Good Lord. Something tells me Farming Sim 19 is about to die a swift death. No wonder Steam had it on sale two days ago at $8 USD. 😂 Knew about FarmSim 22 but didn't want to gloss over the details because I wanted to be pleasantly surprised. Then lost all self control when I heard Giant added several game changing features to the game universe. Like

  • new maps. They added a detailed, immersive French Mediterranean climate/Bordeaux region type map. Which goes perfect for 2/3 new crop types: grapes and olives. Especially grapes because these two can be grown natively on the new French countryside map.
  • dynamic SEASONS!! (and weather) changing mechanic. Both can be toggled as you wish. And both work together to directly affect your crop planting/harvesting and rotation cycles. :D Now your fields will lie fallow during post autumn harvest season for realistic and rational reasons. Seasonal lighting and animation effects dynamically affect the environment. Like trees growing new leaves and changing colors in autumn! But what's still unclear is if they're planning to add future potential for farming winter type crops like broccoli, beets, kale etc. Or perhaps even NPC quests like chopping timber around the map etc. the way you can with Farmer Simulator.
  • CROSSPLAY. Between PC, console AND Stadia gamers. And be as prejudicial as you want to be in snobbing whatever game platforms you want. So PCMR can remain as snobby as it wants playing exclusively with other PCMR denizens 😂
  • new build mode with Production Chains! Now you can design that Cities:Skylines farm and/or associated refining factories right down the the lowest level of detail. Harvest your wheat and sell it at map locations. Or build your own flour factory, make your own flour and sell that at a higher price. Or make cakes and higher deserts out of said flour for a greater profit etc. Regardless how you optimize your farm revenue, the design and layout of your farm has never been easier. Build, landscape, customize your farm and associated buildings to your hearts desire. Down to the very last leaf of your new sorghum crop.
  • an AWESOME create-a-Sim aka Character Customization???! menu. Which let's you completely customize your PC! And you can change your PC appearance whenever you wish by just simply heading into your farmhouse and using the wardrobe! FINALLY. A practical and immersive use for exactly 1/1 furniture items in the farmhouse. The ability for your PC to literally enter and use their farmhouse at long last. No it's not Sims 3 customization on 'roid rage, and yes, it literally took Giant 12 years to get to this point of immersive interactivity. But hey, I'm not gonna complain. 😄 This tiny QoL cosmetic feature is going to go a LONG way. Especially where the dynamic seasons and weather cycles are concerned. For me, this new addition is a definite game changer. The abililty to change into winter/spring/summer/fall gear on the fly will most definitely satisfy my immersion cravings.
All of the new features are going to add scores of new hours once the PC modding community gets their hands into the modding toolbox. And the best part is the fact Giant didn't care to lock any of this custom content away behind a blasted paywall (YES Exceptional Donkey's Rear Ends. I'm looking at you and your grossly overpriced $600+++ USD TS4 franchise to date). I also hope they consider adding side quests on the map. And especially extending more farmhouse interactivity to other furniture items like a working stove, pantry/wine cellar etc. So you can go hunting, fishing and stock up your personal supplies. Or sell them directly to map NPCs and stores the way Farmer Dynasty did so well.

Like Obsidian, Giant is one of a vanishingly few old school (aka pre 2010) single player devs. That STILL believes in making a REAL game filled with genuine content of high replay value. Instead of pushing out another generic, bare bones MVP that is bloated with toxic game mechanic P2W loot boxes. So they can exploit the player base and bleed it dry for its real customers aka the investor shareholders. Then again, that's probably 'coz they're not an American based multinational AAA leviathan publisher the likes of the Exceptional Donkey's Rear Ends

Looks like my refugee terran legs are hyper jumping back to Sol a lot sooner than I thought come Nov 22 :p

I'll be on Railroads Online again this weekend, building a loop track between the logging camp, sawmill and smelter. It's quite a challenge, because the distance is great and the terrain is mountainous.

Assuming they don't push out another patch today & break everything like last week of course... ah, the joys of early access & alpha code...

Speaking of which, how is Odyssey looking these days after 6 months?
