And as Golgot has shown, so has CIG.

What it means though is not certain.
The job posted by Golgot was : "Environment Artist (Star Citizen - Theaters of War) [Firesprite]"

An artist working for Firesprite (and using the inner flow of Firesprite for artists which is certainly NOT the Cryengine) can work with UE to test rapidly the assets created and port them to CE/StarEngine once validated.

So, using Unreal to create assets for SC.... so for CIG. So Unreal is being used for SC (at least ToW), at least for modelling because.... its better than CryEngine for this?

Then why are CIG still creating models in CryEngine? Surely CIG should be hiring more Unreal people for the creation of models?

And there is still the suspicion that ToW is being made on Unreal rather than CryEngine.

I am probably wrong here but isn't Unreal the preferred engine for consoles (especially Playstations)? If it is released on say PS4, then R/SC will be a delight to read.

Well, it has been theorized that despite CR's "I'm a PC game" spiel, CIG do want to bring either SQ42 or ToW to the console market.

The mental gymnastics that will be on display in Spectrum will be a sight to behold if that ever happens.

I would call it "Massage of the day".

No no, validation with Unreal Engine, not creation. I could see it happening the same way you can, for example, prototype something quicker in one language (faster implementation) to then port it to another language (faster execution, lower memory footprint etc.). Python to C++ or some such. In this particular case, it may be that Unreal Engine offers better way of previewing assets.

Assets themselves are likely created outside of any engine and imported. Also, I know nothing about game development.

Don't worry, its early days.
Decades. It is early decades.

Recent Yamiks vid about if Odyssey was worth the comeback had an interesting comment besides the usual Armstrong moment fart joke (that never gets).

It's really well put together and I couldn't have said it better.

No wonder that Kate, Black and other refugees jumped to SC and found their fun there:
I mean even enduring the god awful infuriating 30k crashes SC just keeps pulling you in with all the gorgeous views and detail. T
he mere process of acquiring a new shiny ship ingame is a delight similar when you buy a new car IRL or a new toy as kid. Truly endearing.

Kate still going at it in that prison thing,
I admire her persistence but I had one go there and swear to never return if depends on me.

Black also still going at it organizing races it seems, flight model is way more dynamic and visceral than Elite one, and certainly not the aberration that some painted here. Probably never actually tried it would be my guess.

Still no sign of the new patch and the wipe though, for now it's just testing out ships, armour and guns. The easiness in doing so is staggering compared with ED's dull convoluted grindmess.

Randomly shows it well enough:

It's a simple, yet more immersive and effective method.

Oh goodie, are we doing random 'refugee' quotes again? Ok...

PS it's fascinating that you keep using the word 'endure' to discuss your enjoyment of SC...

Fake. Anyone who looks at the video can easily see that ships have no mass and no inertia.

Fake. In ED one doesn't test out ships, armour and guns, but plays the game.

Why do you sound like an used car salesman?

Pepperoni gameplay wanted!

Nice piece of dreams.txt, it even manages to mention a spaceship somehow!
