Again I play and enjoy a lot of games.Other games. As i said, there are many games out there worth playing.
No, it's pretty AND enjoyable to play AND fun. Pretty is just one important aspect of SC, not the only one. Solo COD games are pretty but I don't play them (despite being fond of FPS). Don't say that being pretty is not important for gamers because it is. For me, bugs are not a problem at all as long as the pleasure of playing is is greater than the inconvenience. And for making an alpha for my main game, I've played a wonderfull beta called Seed that didn't survive it's first year of release. It was a wonderful experience and I'm glad I've maximised my time of play with the beta. Its pretty. Pretty a good game does not make. I understand some are ok with it as it is, despite its current state. Making a buggy alpha your "main" game though is highly questionable.
The actual history of CR is that he give me an alpha I already enjoy to play more than other released games. Perhaps 3 years ago it could have been a valid point but now, I'm beyond looking at CR's past and just look at the present. That's your call. Again, you seem willing to ignore CR's history and trust that this time will be different. That's quite a stretch.
I don't understand. I love CP77 and I think it's a great AAA game. I only started recently because I was waiting for some more patches. CP77 is not bad, CP77 is good and I hope that CIG can get at least the same quality for SQ42.I don't know. So what? Did you enjoy it? If not, why you playing it? If so, strange how many SC faithful point to Cyberpunk as being something so bad it makes SC look good.
No tragedy at all. SC is just a game and since several decades I've ended (forced or by choice) a lot of games I was heavily invested in (EQ, Shadowbane, Ryzom, Neocron, PS1, AO, etc). But i suspect that it would be an absoloute tragedy for you considering how invested you are in and how much faith you have in the project.
SC is only a game. If CIG fail, we'll just have a game disappearing, nothing more. If children´s education fail, it makes broken adults. No risk means that there are virtually no consequences if they fail. Zero accountability for their actions.
Something similar happens with our children´s education.
Again I play and enjoy a lot of games.
But for the space game genre (that is my preferred genre of game since Ark of Captain Blood), I tried all others and, for me, they are all below SC. So, why should I let SC die while in this specific genre, it's already the best game for me ?

If you think I'm invested in SC you should have seen what I was doing in Ryzom or AO. I was a young guild leader with plenty of time. Now I'm just a random player just enjoying the game with few friends. I'm invested but I do not have faith, only trust in CIG.

A disgraceful lack of trust on display…

Gaming companies can have no consequences and zero accountability
CIG is accountable to itself. If CIG fail, it will happen as you describe it : the destruction of a development company.Normally they do though. They have contracts with their publishers and a failed or bad game can destroy a development company. They are accountable to those funding them.

Don't think there is no pressure on CIG or CR, having a company paying 700 salaries puts pressure on its managers.

I pretty much tuned out his Facebook posts about the game until one day he messages me out of the blue asking how I'm doing and all, then asks if I can help him out. Turns out he's a bit short on his rent and naturally I asked what happened. I'm thinking health crisis or emergency car repair. Turns out he bought ships expecting a check to arrive in time to cover things by the time the rent came due, but check was late and he was scrambling. Had it been something like covering a medical bill or an emergency repair, I would've given him something, but not this. I suggest he talk to his landlord about the rent going to be a bit late but he's not able to do that because he's been buying ships to the point rent's been late before and he's exhausted that excuse with the landlord. I tell him I'm sorry and I can't at this time, and I guess he found someone to cough up since I didn't see him posting about needing a place to stay. The next month, he's posting asking for suggestions of flexible ways to earn extra cash so currently in addition to the call center he works at, he's also driving for Uber to keep affording to throw money at this game. I don't know if there's been times after he talked to me about having trouble paying bills because of his throwing money at this game and I honestly think he's going to have a breakdown if it ever officially comes out that this is a scam with how much I'm guessing he's already tossed in. I’ve been an active backer since early 2013. Back when it started all those years ago I was full of excitement at imagining all of the amazing things that Star Citizen could be and would become. I followed every morsel of information and was extremely active in the forums chatting with fellow travelers embarking on this amazing adventure called Star Citizen.
Through the years my mind became conditioned to watch for the next ship commercial and sale. The moment it appeared I snapped up the new ship regardless of function and purpose. Each ship symbolized to me a new cutting edge experience and the ship became dear to me as I named each one before naming was even in the distant horizon as a feature.
Fast forward to today I’ve accumulated tens of thousands dollars worth of ships and have NoTHIng to show for it. This game is evolving into a disgusting GTA online FPS Eve game hybrid that takes forever to get into and will only appeal to EVE FPS shooter basement dwellers that aren’t good enough to handle genuine PvP skill based games like Overwatch. Star Citizen will become a niche of niche game.
Star Citizen is alienating the core PvE gaming demographic which is massive. After each disasterous update the SC devs are opening up even more avenues of griefing I.e. medical gameplay that is once again reigniting the flames of hate within the community. I’ve wasted hours of time losing everything to either bugs, griefers, and chat has become a toxic cauldron of rage.
There is ZERO gaming loops for any ships while griefers are driving away the PvE players in droves. This will only get worse because of Chris Roberts’ stubbornness regarding forced PvP PvE integration.
You will lose the massive PvE player demographic if you allow other players to dictate your gaming experience and SC player retention will be an utter failure compared to other MMO games that cater to PVE players. In the beginning Chris Roberts promised solo play would be viable that promise is slowly but most assuredly being broken with each and every update.(source)

Early days.
"we’ll need"
"Before we can truly call this feature complete"
"The first version of this technology"
"it’s possible"
"We’re aiming to"
"This is where we will need to start implementing game mechanics that prevent these scenarios from happening too frequently."
"The absolute limit is hard to predict until some of the new technology comes online"
"The full design is not 100% established yet and may change though."
"Only once we overcome these hurdles"
"This will allow us to try"
"We also plan for a mechanic"
"As we refine the technology"
"we plan"
"We still plan on"
"We do not plan"
"To answer this properly, I first need to give some more detail on what our final architecture will look like"
"We’re hoping"
"So, don’t expect player counts to increase much with the first version"
"Once we’ve got this working"
"There’s not much we can do about this in the short term but it’s something we want to improve on"
"Once work on the initial version of the Replication layer is complete"
Strange that this leaves out the part that roberts said "hopefully" they will be able to have thousands of players all in the same area.

Server Meshing is another big technical milestone ahead of us. It’s dependent on iCache, as that allows the various servers in the mesh to utilize a unified snapshot of the state of the universe, but we have been working on this over the past few years and hope to have the first iteration in players’ hands by next year. This will allow us to greatly expand the number of the players beyond 50 to thousands concurrently in the same “instance” as the tech will spin up additional servers to handle the simulation load in an area as the player count increases. This is when Star Citizen becomes a true Massively Multiplayer Game.
Welcome to game development!
