State of the Game

i don't think it is a thargoid hybrid ship. an anti tharg weapon doesn't seem like something you would come up with from figuring out how to fly a thargoid ship.

mayhaps guardian sentinel tech.
That makes sense for that particular aspect. Some of my other theories go like this:
  • The Thargoids are really in this universe due to the fauna supposedly found at the lost laboratory near the Colonia Bridge. Their Barnacle sites are really caps keeping the heat seeking critters locked up so they can't take over this galaxy.

  • FDev is actually closely monitoring this thread for everything that YOU say and using that to move the plot lines forward. This is the Thargoid War that will ravage the bubble into rubble forcing humanity to use the Colonia Bridge to get away.

  • You're really an FDev employee and you were planted in these forums to gather intel...or possibly spread misinformation regarding the various plots....and PowerPlay...
In any case, it is all leading up to Thargoids on foot...

Lol - I kinda hope this is an excellent typo?!

Purely intentional. I refuse to spell the poser's self-designation properly. I've been sprinkling different variations through several threads lately...

(I'm actually keeping a list...)

that would explain how the thread stays where it is

the logic is convincing.

I've got an RTX 2060 for which I purchased, on sale, an HP Omen 27i 2K monitor, from that list, and I am extremely happy with it (features, resolution and performance).

I was going to recommend HP Omen but I see they don't have any 4K gaming monitors.

My BIL was using a 24" 4K/60 Hz monitor for ED but after he saw mine he purchased a similar 30" 2K gaming monitor from a different manufacturer.

I believe Ratty plays in 4K and may be able to make a recommendation there...
I had my heart set on 4k - but that does look like a very good monitor - and at a sensible price, whereas the 4K ones are a bit mentally priced at the minute.
oooh decisions, decisions.

EDIT: My friend is lending me one of these:

Alienware AW3420DW 34 Inch WQHD (3440x1440).

So will be interesting to see if it a) Fits on my desk, and how EDO looks in it.
It's not 4K, but does have good refresh rate, and looks funky. I suspect he's trying to sell me it - but what the hell, I'll give it a go, see how I get on with it.

Anyone played EDO on an ultrawide, does it look any good??

Not the galaxy map, allegedly.

I use a 32" 4k monitor, agreed they are a silly price! There are a few games (apart from EDO) that make my 2080s stuggle in 4k so maybe it wasn't the best idea...
There is always something with ED 🤷‍♂️

Oh well he's dropping it round tomorrow, I'll give it a go, and see how I get on.
Reading up on it, looks the the Gal Map issue is the cursor not lining up correctly (not sure if just mouse pointer, or what - we shall see)

Re:4K, yes, that's my worry too - I've got an RTX3070, but still wonder if maybe 4K is a step too far at the minute.
I'll see how I get on with the ultra wide thing, and also see what price I can beat him down to :)
