Seriously? We can’t hold down the mouse button to trade in the data, or have an option to just trade in everything? We seriously have to have 300 mouse clicks to trade the whole bunch?

The mechanics do seem one sided, however if I was of a mind to do CG's I wouldn't be using that method to pick my side, surely you pick your side because one side is right and the other wrong. I guess I'm just old fashioned, but I can't seriously see why anyone is supporting the university at all.

Greed maybe ? Or the good PR of Orion's previous statements ?

In that CG, at least there aren't any reward modules. Orion, you know what to do :p (Greed, I tell you! Greed !)

Well...
In my opinion giving them data would be more interesting outcome, than materials, and "they escaped, lol".
Orion is donating tons of data in the hope that the scriveners will see things their way and work WITH them to research. If they finish first the ball is still in Scriveners court. If they do want to help and accept Orion's token of goodwill, they'll have full repairs and all of that data.

But nah, better as always support status quo, and think, that "we are good guys, bad orion, bad" ;)

But why I care it, I'm 15k ly to bubble, so only thing I can do is laughing, that community again choose less interesting option, and after it community will again complain, that "no changes, no interesting things, no influence" :D

I agree,
The outcome will be far more interesting than them just taking the goodies and disappearing.
If the data CG wins and we get more storyline, great.
If they still insist on just disappearing, then ------->>> NEW CG for December !!! + phase 3 - will be very busy.

<<<<Meanwhile, at Jamesons Crash site>>>> Adaptive Encryptors are now full - 100 load in 30 mins, now - sheilds off and boost into planet WHAM, to unload instantly back at Shaara!!!

You honestly believe there are two outcomes? There is only one, the Fdev outcome, and that'll be whatever they decide, whether it's they want to give us the info, or not.

The only real choice is whether you want to be a jerk or be a nice person.

Also, for anyone who don't realise, 1/2 hour at Jamesons Crash Site in HIP 12099 1 b gives 100 Adaptive Encryptors Capture at 81 :1 Unusual Encrypted Files and 100+ Atypical Encryption Archives at 27:1. (don't convert to the other 2 data types - just UEF, as they convert for less)
And to relog, you only need to exit to Main Menu on PS4 (dont know about PC/XB)
I'm gettin average 12000 data per run/1r 15min.

I wouldn't put it so starkly. FDev does likely have the overall story plotted out, but if past CGs are any indication, probably have modestly different plot forks planned out depending on the outcome here. For instance, it may be that for either outcome, we are to receive a plot clue that derives from the Data Core, but what ultimately happens to the Scriveners themselves very possibly depends on what happens this week. Not necessarily in the obvious way, either - it would generate much salt, but you could imagine that it's the Orion victory outcome that allows the Scriveners to continue their lifestyle, but a trade victory ends with repairs failing and the ship being destroyed when it tries to escape.

Now, think about it.

Unbeknownst to players, the plot has two possible outcomes:

one will eventually lead to the release of the Panther Clipper, the other to the release of Odyssey for consoles. We don't know which is which.

Pick your side!

It, few days more, but all scenarios all possible
Orion victory:
-Galaxy will get data
-Orion will get data
-They will suicide and destroy core
-Happy end, scrivs accept data, and work together

Scrivs victory:
-They are happy, and gift data for community
-Orion will find way to steal data
-Unsuccesfull repairs, ship go caboom/succesfull, they escaped
-They accept both offers, cargo AND data

Orion victory:
-scriveners get ddos'd by a spam of low grade data
-orion steals the core
-shares some data
-dredger explodes

Scrivener victory:
-dredger powers up
-orion megaship gets eaten
-some data gets shared
-scriveners vanish into the black

Scrivener victory:
-dredger powers up
-orion megaship gets eaten
Ding ding ding!

Yes very good. I'm not overly concerned about what happens to the Core, this right here is the essence of why I picked the trade goal to support. Wanna see the big maw go CHOMP.

To have any chance of winning Orion supporters at the moment need to make not less than 400 jameson trips... I can manage 20, maybe more trips, but looking at other commander's activities (according to Inara) this seems pointless

Why would Orion? Makes no more sense.
So, a moral decision born of emergent gameplay(tm) of dropping cargo into dredger maw by Canonn people.
Good thing it will win, which is clearly seen at this point.
