Uh... keyboard?Seriously? We can’t hold down the mouse button to trade in the data, or have an option to just trade in everything? We seriously have to have 300 mouse clicks to trade the whole bunch?
Greed maybe ? Or the good PR of Orion's previous statements ?The mechanics do seem one sided, however if I was of a mind to do CG's I wouldn't be using that method to pick my side, surely you pick your side because one side is right and the other wrong. I guess I'm just old fashioned, but I can't seriously see why anyone is supporting the university at all.

I agree,Well...
In my opinion giving them data would be more interesting outcome, than materials, and "they escaped, lol".
Orion is donating tons of data in the hope that the scriveners will see things their way and work WITH them to research. If they finish first the ball is still in Scriveners court. If they do want to help and accept Orion's token of goodwill, they'll have full repairs and all of that data.
You honestly believe there are two outcomes? There is only one, the Fdev outcome, and that'll be whatever they decide, whether it's they want to give us the info, or not.Well...

But nah, better as always support status quo, and think, that "we are good guys, bad orion, bad"
But why I care it, I'm 15k ly to bubble, so only thing I can do is laughing, that community again choose less interesting option, and after it community will again complain, that "no changes, no interesting things, no influence"![]()
So no real choice, I'm playing games for doing things, which I can't (or don't want) do IRLThe only real choice is whether you want to be a jerk or be a nice person.
I wouldn't put it so starkly. FDev does likely have the overall story plotted out, but if past CGs are any indication, probably have modestly different plot forks planned out depending on the outcome here. For instance, it may be that for either outcome, we are to receive a plot clue that derives from the Data Core, but what ultimately happens to the Scriveners themselves very possibly depends on what happens this week. Not necessarily in the obvious way, either - it would generate much salt, but you could imagine that it's the Orion victory outcome that allows the Scriveners to continue their lifestyle, but a trade victory ends with repairs failing and the ship being destroyed when it tries to escape. You honestly believe there are two outcomes? I'd take the Panther Clipper, every single time. Now, think about it.
Unbeknownst to players, the plot has two possible outcomes:
one will eventually lead to the release of the Panther Clipper, the other to the release of Odyssey for consoles. We don't know which is which.
Pick your side!
It, few days more, but all scenarios all possibleit would generate much salt, but you could imagine that it's the Orion victory outcome that allows the Scriveners to continue their lifestyle, but a trade victory ends with repairs failing and the ship being destroyed when it tries to escape.
Ding ding ding!Scrivener victory:
-dredger powers up
-orion megaship gets eaten
they'll have full repairs and all of that data.
