well unless the idea is to have memes that either aren't funny or just not really make any sense, it would have a lot as to him being the mascot... since that's what mascots are for
Good to see a wide selection of candidates for next week's mascot. Sir Lee seems to currently be taking the early voting despite enders lobbying.
Great description of chopper flying sister lysette. I've been up in a ranger and a tourist r44 with my son last summer. Someday i'd love to pilot either fixed or rotary.
Any other Gunship fans amongst the bretheren and sisteren? Had the original for the c128 and then they made one for the one of the early playstations. Next up will be the the msfs once i build/buy something for it (and edo). Which reminds me i need to see how vr is going for that i thought i read the were shooting for the end of this year.

So what's up here? After 2564 pages of thread does it make sense to have a forum section for this thread only? I mean..this thread alone is more popular than the complete FDEV forum altogether and it covers all sub-reddits topics

Watching play is nice if it is edited to just contain the interesting bits... All of mine are unedited - once I could stream it was even lazier.
Yes, I do a bit of everything and make 'fun' from it all. EDO planets are pretty good, even the bland looking ones (atmospherics, naturally) although I don't think I've found a bland Horizons body to not look better in the new tech, the extreme cases in Horizons don't exist in EDO, but I don't actually mind over much, they were not bodies I'd habitually visit anyway.
I've spent a few hours playing in the combat CZ this week, supporting the Neo-marlinists of course, in the top 10% currently, will do more over the weekend... Now doing 14 assorted surface missions, most covert, just for the challenge. For me EDO has injected a huge amount of improved gameplay, which is fine!
I don't remember Gunship (possibly as at time I'd have been playing an assortment of RPG games) but did have Comanche and played it for a while.

i don't know, isn't the star citizen thread still far larger if you count the previous versions that came from the time where there was a post limit?
obviously this thread, being the representation of elite dangerous, is better... it is still quite young
It was rt around when the apache went into service (late 80's) and how, but for being as blind as a bat, i almost ended up going into the service to fly choppers. It had campaigns/ maps in vietnam, central america, mideast, and europe (fulda gap) iirc. The playstation version had other choppers kiowa, defender, blackhawk too. Good stuff.
Real cats, some here have a "mild" aversion to anything anime, just saying...
A couple of other candidates for long threads:
The old hotel California ones went up to 3 or 4 before mods decided we could clutter up the forums with that nonsense again.
Also the pseudo scientists in the "we still can't find Raxxla because FD never implemented it or its bugged" thread have covered a lot of pages.
Proud owner of the boxed Amiga version of Gunship (1986) here. Good thick 100+ page manual, too. Those were the days.
i don't count the raxxla thread. just a thread to dump whatever current imaginary davinci code nonsense the next new player who discovers the game comes up with. it's a role playing thread for the dark wheel (a club of people not finding what they're looking for and pretending that's exclusive and secretive to impress others amid their incompetence)
