I just learned the Foo Fighters have covered a Bee Gees song and don't know if that is kinda awesome or utterly terrible. I need guidance.
Anticitizen1? How about that? You get bonus point if you got the reference and don't you dare snide one of my fav game episodes.Thankfully SaltEMike isn't called StarCitizenMike![]()
As far as i can make out, this meant CIG were just in the black.

Thank you. It's an atrocity all right. I even reported you for such heinous act.I hear CR is planning on covering some of their songs as well. But with some slight changes.

Hmm. I think we're actually agreeing, but whatever. My point is, no it's certainly not. It requires time from 3D artists, but that can be assigned between projects (as FDEV have multiple projects going on). What prevented FDEV of doing so, was a pure design decision: their game engine is just not built that way because they decided against it.
Hmm. I think we're actually agreeing, but whatever. No it's not. Even setting aside the stupidity of doing whole planets by hand, CiG really wasted hundreds of millions of $$ on useless features, non-working game engine, constant refactors due to persisting in bad choices. In comparison, FDEV followed a quite straight forward development timeline. They indeed decided that ships would be the "main actor" of their 3D game engine, and changing that now would indeed require a huge rewrite, but deciding otherwise from the start of the project would have not changed the outcome that much, as again, they have semi-competent management and IT project structure which is NOT the case of CiG.
Lets say it otherwise: what we have now delivered from CiG is definitely not worth $400 million. By a large scale factor. Comparisons based on that budget, or the time invested by CiG in this product, should include the huge amount of bad choices, dead ends, dropped code (lots of things have disappeared during all these years..), money siphoning schemes, etc. Which makes most comparisons completely irrelevant as SC is quite unique indeed.

He's certainly fascinated by pressing buttons to watch things open and closeAs soon as I saw his joy at purchasable ice creams on the last stream, it was clear he could have some fun in SC![]()

He's definitely a Star Citizen tourist...I spent hours watching the global chat during the free-fly with people aghast at working doors and squeaky toys...all the time silently screaming "Don't get in that elevator!""VIDEOS PLAYING IN GAME ON THE WALL!"
Okay...

Nuts... I only caught the last minute of it, when he was summing his stream. General impression I got was that he was distracted by the same things I got distracted by after my entry into Star Citizen. There is definitely a lot of attention to detail in their assets, which I can appreciate... just not in an Alpha, especially an Alpha that still hasn't even finalized the designs of core technologies.

There was a joke once about the Rolling Stones renaming one of their songs for an upcoming tour of Scotland, they retitled it, 'Hey, MacLeod...get off of my ewe.'![]()
He's finished for the day. He noted he didn't actually get in a ship and fly.
THAT'S how immersive SC is!
