So than also FDev will get nothing from us moneywise.... The shareholders will be very amused.
it's sad to say but if that was his thoughts on next year, then we console players are going to have to face it. our game is gone. They have literally left no room for hope now.Why not spend some time explaining whats happening with console and there update! How is odyssey update coming along etc!
So the end of year update is that you are going to have an update in January.Greetings Commanders,
As we approach the end of the year, I thought I would do something different. Instead of the usual Development Update, I would like to show more than tell; specifically around Fleet Carriers! We will have a full Development Update in January 2022, and lay out our plans for communicating with you through updates, streams and social channels.

We're going to tell you about what's coming next week, next week.Update 9
Update 9 is planned for release next week, with full patch notes published on the same day. Once we have a confirmed date and time we will of course let you know! Here are the highlights of what Update 9 will bring:

So I am guessing that the Marquee item - the Internal view for PC Odyssey commanders of a Fleet Carrier jump isn't working yet.My thoughts on next year
One of the biggest aspects coming in 2022, literally and figuratively, is the addition of Fleet Carrier interiors. There is a huge amount that the team have been working on regarding this, so as promised we would much rather show you!
Join us on December 16th for our Christmas stream! This will be our last stream of the year and we want it to be special. Along with the usual fun you would expect for our end of year stream, we will be taking you on a tour around a Fleet Carrier interior for the first time. We will also be joined by a member of the development team to help us answer as many of your questions as we can.
Please remember that what we show will very much be work in progress and not final. There will also be some elements we will not show, as we feel some things are best experienced in-person, such as the all-important jump...

Possible indication on a console updateOutside of Fleet Carrier interiors, the development team are hard at work on new features and mission types, such as settlement defence that I cannot wait to share more on. We are also reviewing and assessing a number of areas that you have raised ...
... but as I said, I will leave those details for January!
It is fair to say this has been a challenging year for Elite Dangerous but we are proud and grateful of our community. It is our community’s continued love and support that drives us forward each and every day. To quote the first American female astronaut in space and physicist, Sally Ride - “The stars don’t look bigger, but they do look brighter.”
From the team and I, and all of us here at Frontier: have a wonderful holiday and we will see you in black!

I was hoping that FD would take the chance to calm down the console gamers. Well missed. Anyone want a Consolation Cookie? (For console players only)You weren't really expecting any were you?
Not for the console cmdrs... for us its just depressing...I wish I had some popcorn, this thread is funny.

It is sad, I rather enjoyed my time in ED and will still pick it up occasionally. Their handling of this update has left a pretty bad taste though. All we can really do is sit back and wait. Maybe play EDH for as long as it's supported and we can still enjoy it. It really isn't worth investing any more energy into FDEV. I think they (as a whole, not CMs) have proven they don't care about the console community, so why continue to chase after something they're not willing to offer?it's sad to say but if that was his thoughts on next year, then we console players are going to have to face it. our game is gone. Fdev and the CM's have put a complete ban on talking about the console version. this silence is only adding more fuel to the "consoles are being cancelled" fire. this could easily be fixed with small updates, which they refuse to do. sadly I now believe that they are going to cancel the console version and just sell us arks as a side hustle.Afraid I'm going to have to have a bit of a rant here ..... As a console user, I and many others are getting more than hacked off with the radio silence around the console release. When Odyssey was launched, and it suffered the plethora of issues, you (as in frontier) stated you were putting console development on hold so you can get the PC version right. Myself, and many others, were not happy at this but saw the reasons why this call was made, and accepted it. Now almost 8 months down the line, the PC version is in a much better place, but instead of now releasing a console version, you are now ADDING NEW FEATURES to the PC version!! This is just not on mate! We were patient once, but patience is wearing very thin. I think the only thing keeping many of us console users interested in Elite is the fact that there's no real alternative on our platform. If Star Citizen existed on console, we'd probably be out the door. However, the clock is ticking and Bethesda's StarField is a-coming......
You need to tell us what is going on.......

honestly, i don't think the CM's care too much, they always slip up about upcoming things, never once have they about consoles. they know whats going on and they are playing the game with FdevIt is sad, I rather enjoyed my time in ED and will still pick it up occasionally. Exactly, this !!!I’m honestly not sure what annoys me as a console user the most….. the fact we’ve heard zero about a console release, or the fact that someone in Frontier thinks that it’s perfectly acceptable to keep us in the dark. Embarrassing.
Any news for Console release? We hope to don’t wait another year… We would like to play Odyssey too… thanks…Greetings Commanders,

Update 9
Update 9 is planned for release next week, with full patch notes published on the same day. Once we have a confirmed date and time we will of course let you know! Here are the highlights of what Update 9 will bring:
This update will also include a plethora of fixes and tweaks, including (but not limited to) the following:
- New Twin-Seat Combat Multicrew SRV
- Mission extensions
- Multi Limpet Controller
One of the tweaks we have looked at based on your feedback is atmospheric lighting. I would like to share some before and after pictures of what you can expect with Update 9. These lighting effects will be noticeable when stars are low on the horizon.
- Issues relating to inactive AI at conflict zones will now be resolved.
- Issues relating to hatch breaker limpets when used on cargo hatch or escape pods on non-dockable megaships (Odyssey and Horizons)
- Thermal Conduit no longer has the incorrect damage increase and is correctly represented visually.
- Completing high influence missions will now affect Background Simulation as expected.
- Stations no longer 'pop' into existence when jumping out of supercruise

One thing I am particularly excited for is the conclusion of the Azimuth Saga. We have been delighted to see our community engaging with this story arc and we cannot wait to expand on it. The narrative team and I are excited to entertain, perplex and thrill you with what we have in store next year!
