If you could make any publisher buy elite, which would you choose?

Fdev have obviously done a pretty poor job at actually developing this game.

Beyond the creation of the galaxy itself, almost everything else is just bad.

So which publisher or developer do you think would be able to do right by this game and it's players.

Personally I think this game would be infinitely improved if it was re-purposed as a mass effect game (set between mass effect 1&3)

You would get mass relays to open up more of the galaxy.

Actual lore and story lines

Missions that don't suck and are hollow, which have a feeling of impacting the galaxy

Interesting factions - with dynamic political play possible

Ground combat that's fun, and a good leveling system with interesting abilities

An existential alien threat that's actually interesting and scary

A proper underworld in game (not just a menu)

If we are talking about taking over at the curret time, then FO New Vegas Era Obsidian without the rush to market. It would add some proper RPG elements and story to the current game.

I’m happy with what Frontier have done. I’m not saying there aren’t issues, and I’ve had my share of frustrations over the years, but I don’t know what other company would have stayed this true to the sandbox nature and sim/realistic constraints. I don’t want Elite to be like other games.

I'll have you know that's reserved for my use only and has Magic Cargo Racks that can always hold enough cargo to put me in the top 10 of any trading-based CG.
So a Bag of Holding, then? I'd like one for my iCourier, please. Size 3 on the outside and maybe (let's not be greedy here) size 10 on the inside.

Fdev have done a phenomenal job developing the game.

As well as creating a model of the entire milky way, they've created a game where you can go from galactic scale down to solar systems, planets and moons, the individual rocks and surfaces. To this they've added ships, a working political simulation for factions including the effect of your actions on markets, encounters and missions. An excellent multiplayer environment where daily I can catch up with friends and enjoy missions, warzones, settlement combat and looting.

To this they've added ongoing storyline not just of combat against aliens but shared community goals, new locations and stories.

On TOP of this they've created stellar phenomena and exobiology to discover.

They've got ship launched fighters, wings, NPC crew, SRV's (I'm counting the 2nd one coming this week), engineering and uograde paths, the use of micromatetials to enhance weapons and jump range and much more besides.
So which publisher or developer do you think would be able to do right by this game and it's players.
Frontier are the right developer and publisher for this. Elite is at the core of what they do.

It exists. In bucket loads.

We impact the galaxy with every action we take. This can be seen system by system and is one of the most interesting aspects of playing the game for me. The manipulation of political states, the directing of expansions and much more.
Interesting factions - with dynamic political play possible
Already possible.
Ground combat that's fun, and a good leveling system with interesting abilities
Ground combat is a complete riot!
An existential alien threat that's actually interesting and scary
I nearly pooed my pants the first time I was hyperdicted. The thargoid ruins are properly spooky and the machine when you activate it is awesome.

On this element. I agree.

The original core developers, many of whom left FDev, like Dr. Kay Ross, in association with developers who are emotionally involved to make one game great i.e. Hello Games(?) instead of being a game publisher or a jack of all trades.

I am all for making money. But profit as primary raison d'etre gives sterile results at best.

I used to believe FDev's communication about their being "excited" for the future of Elite Dangerous. The process and launch of Odyssey and the subsequent radio silence on console release smashed that into bits.
